I would wholly and appropriately agree with you with 3 caveats:
#1 The timing: it's holy for the Christian faith with Easter Sunday literally right around the corner and it wouldn't be the first time this landmark was targeted by a certain religious group who members have a tendency to self combust.
#2 Politics: Do you think with all the civil unrest in France right now that Macrons gov't would allow news that a certain man of a certain religion bunded down fuckingΒ Notre-Dame?? Of course not especially when he is sponsoring the mass immigration of those people into France.
#3 The prevention of reprisals: Do you think the French people who have suffered numerous terrorist attacks countless deaths and now the destruction of one of their most prized historical sites will just accept it and continue to sip their wine? Fuck no every mosque every Muslim in France will become a target and France is a target rich environment.
