When Worlds Collide

In the kingdom of Arendelle everything started as normal as ever. The people went about their day, enjoying the warm feeling of summer and going about their daily business, the children were at play and the kingdom’s Ice Master and Deliverer was busy making all his deliveries today with the help from his longtime reindeer companion and an oh-so friendly snowman.

Meanwhile in Arendelle Castle Queen Elsa was in her study, overlooking some important business messages with the nearby kingdoms. She had been at it nearly all morning and it was starting to become bothersome. Every time she finished one she looked back to the pile that she still had to sort through, sighing and mentally remaindering herself to just get it done and out of the way.

She turned her seat away from the door where her sister, Princess Anna, had been lurking. She peeked in to see her sister distracted and, with a mischievous smile on her face, began to sneak in. She carefully stepped closer and closer towards Elsa before pulling out a party-favor horn from her back. Finally coming closer enough she put the favor to her mouth and…

A small whiff of magic from Elsa froze the front end of the favor, she saying “Don’t even think about it.” With a small smile on her face as she turned back to her sister.

Anna pouted, throwing the favor away, before saying “Well you’re no fun. Not that you’re not fun all the time, just not being fun right now.” Elsa only smirked before turning back, Anna saying “Aw, come on, sis. You know what tomorrow is, right?”

Elsa acted dumb and asked “Friday?”

“Very funny.” Anna shook her head. “I mean that it’s your birthday tomorrow! You should be a lot more excited about it.”

Elsa sighed and explained “I haven’t exactly been excited about my birthdays in a long time. Remember? They were mainly spent inside my room with mom and dad giving me a slice of cake and a candle. That was it.”

“Well yeah. But don’t forget the presents I always left you.”

Elsa took a moment to think back on all the times Anna would leave presents outside her door before saying “Yeah, I suppose. But I don’t know, Anna. We already had so much fun celebrating your birthday. Maybe we could just take a break when it comes to mine.”

Anna thought to herself and say “We could….but I don’t think we will.” Much to the friendly annoyance of her sister she leaned down and held her by the shoulders while saying “Trust me, Elsa, you’re going to love it. I’ve had Kristoff and Olaf working on a big surprise for you.”

Elsa sighed again, trying to hide the smile on her face, before replying “Right now, Anna, the last thing I need are any surpri-”

Suddenly the sky lite up, gaining both Elsa and Anna’s attention as well as everyone else in the kingdom. Everything went so bright it was practically blinding before a loud, thunderous boom cracked across the sky. Everyone covered their ears or fell to the ground, thinking it was something falling to the Earth. Just as soon as it came, however, everything began to calm. Everyone looked around, seeing they were alright, while wondering what had happened.

“What was that?” Anna asked as she and Elsa stood, looking out the window. “Thunder?”

“Maybe there’s a storm coming.” Elsa asked before looking up and adding “But there’s no clouds in the sky. That’s strange.”

A moment later another boom came, this one softer but coming from somewhere outside. The sudden sound of people screaming alerted the queen and princess enough to run for the door, trying to see what it was. As they made it to the doors of the castle a guard had stopped them, saying there was someone or something in the town attacking people.

When asked where it came from the guard only said “I don’t know, your majesties. It’s…it’s like it just appeared from nowhere.”

The two hurried outside, pushing past the many fleeing citizens, only to finally discover what everyone had been running from. It looked like a man wearing armor while a green hood and cloak covered nearly all of his body. All of his body was covered in the armor including his face, which was realized when he turned to look around at his surroundings.

With one of the people in his hand the armored man demanded “My patience grows thinner by the second. Now tell me where I am, or suffer the wrath of Doom!”

Acting on impulse Anna found an apple and chucked it at Doom, yelling “Hey! Leave him alone!”

Elsa had tried to stop her but it was too late. The apple struck Doom against his head, bouncing off with a metal ping. He turned to see the two before the man he held had revealed the two as Princess Anna and Queen Elsa by impulse.

Hearing this Doom, finally dropping him, said “Ah. So you are the monarch of this place. Good. I’ll ask you instead.”

“I think the bigger question is who you are and what do you want?” Elsa retorted, standing in front of Anna for protection.

“Do not test Doom, child.” He said while raising his hand. “It is unwise.”

Elsa, acting fast, cast her magic and created a stream of ice that trapped Doom’s hand. He looked at it and noted how interesting it was to see someone with freezing abilities before breaking the ice with a mere grip of his hand. After that he fired his own magical energy, a green beam that Elsa tried to block with a wall of ice. It broke from the blast and Elsa wet tumbling back, Anna falling back as well when trying to catch her.

Doom came towards the two and, raising his hand again, said “Now let’s try this again.”

Before he could say or do anything further something zipped past as super-speed, knocking his hand out of place. Doom looked around before seeing the streak of blue coming again, firing more magic before it zipped past and knocked him away from Elsa and Anna.

A moment later Quicksilver, stopping in front of Elsa and Anna, looked to Doom and said “Picking on girls now? Not very gentlemen-like of you, Doom. Perhaps you should pick on someone your own size.”

Doom growled, raising his hand to fire again, but then a red aura wrapped around it and forced it to fall to his side. As he fought against it he turned to see as everyone else watched another figure fly into the scene.

Scarlett Witch, landing near Doom, surrounding him, said “You heard him. Pick on someone your own size.”

On the planet Felucia the forces of the Republic had gained another victory over the droid armies of the Confederacy of Independent Systems. Thanks to the combined efforts of the Clone Troopers and the Jedi leading them victory had been gained and Felucia would now become another foothold for Republic forces in the Clone Wars. With a base camp established Obi-Wan Kenobi, his former-apprentice Anakin Skywalker, as well as his apprentice’s apprentice Ahsoka Tano, all oversaw the final preparations.

Obi-Wan, finishing speaking to someone via holo-communicator, walked over to Anakin and Ahsoka while saying “Word just came in from Cody. The droids in the northeast region have been dealt with. And they found another factory.”

In the distance they heard an explosion before seeing a cloud of smoke, Ahsoka quipping “And now its scrap metal.”

“At least it’s one less problem to worry about.” Anakin added, crossing his arms. “Once we’ve taken full control of Felucia it’ll help us create a decent foothold in this system.”

“And deal a likely heavy blow to the Separatists.” Obi-Wan added. “Though we should be cautious. The commanders may have retreated but there still could be some surprises awaiting us out there.”

“All the more reason to find them as fast as possible.” Anakin retorted. “And all the faster to get off this planet.” He swatted at a few bugs before saying “I feel like everything hear wants to eat me alive.”

“Can’t blame them for being hungry.” Ahsoka quipped again. After that she added “I can take a team towards the south and clear things there.”

“Alright.” Anakin shrugged. “But don’t go doing anything that’ll-”

Before he could finish a loud boom followed by a blinding flash of light struck from almost nowhere. Everyone dropped, covering their ears before whatever it was settled as soon as it came. The Jedi and troopers all looked around curiously at what had happened.

Obi-Wan, looking to Ahsoka, asked “Are you alright?”

She stood with him and said “I think so. I… Anakin?”

Obi-Wan looked and realized what she had, that Anakin had disappeared, making him look around and call out “Anakin? Anakin!” With no response he asked to himself “Where the blazes did he go now?”

Ashoka turned and tried to call him on her communicator but, after a few moments of just static, she turned back and said “Nothing. It’s like he just vanished.”

Obi-Wan turned to the nearby troopers and ordered “Start a sweep of the area. General Skywalker is missing. Send word to the other parties and see if they can find any trace of him.”

They all saluted and did as ordered before Ahsoka asked “What could have happened? And what was that noise a minute ago?”

“I honestly don’t know, Ahsoka.” Obi-Wan replied, scratching his chin. “It didn’t seem like any natural type of storm. And it doesn’t explain where Anakin went.”

“Maybe some new Separatist weapon?” Ahsoka suggested.

As Obi-Wan considered this they both heard something coming from the bushes nearby. Both of them stood ready before a handful of troopers joined them, aiming their blasters. A moment later the thing, or rather person, who had be running came into view.

The girl, Mulan, gasped at the sight of everyone before keeping her in her hand sword forward, saying “Who are you?”

“Something we were about to ask you.” Obi-Wan replied as he, Ahsoka and some of the men were surprised at the sight of her.

Mulan looked worried before lowering her sword and pleading “Help me. Please! It’s after me!”

“What is?” Ahsoka asked before more rustling could be heard.

It startled Mulan enough to move away, taking cover near Obi-Wan and the troopers before they readied themselves again. This time something completely different came into view. It was a large robotic-being with blazing eyes of red while vaguely shaped like a human.

Ultron, hovering in the air, looked at the assembled group in front him before saying [More unknown hostiles. Identity yourselves.]

“By the force! What is that?” Obi-Wan said aloud as troopers all pointed their weapons at it.

“Some kind of advanced droid by the looks of it.” Ahsoka suggested. “Really advanced.”

Ultron seemed to scan the trooper’s blasters as well as the inactive lightsabers in the Jedi’s hands before saying [Your weapons. They do not recognize as anything man-made. Clearly this is not Earth. You will lay down your weapons and submit or be destroyed.]

Igniting both of her lightsabers Ahsoka replied “Or we can try the third option of turning you into nothing but a pile of scrap!”

On the trooper’s commander’s orders they all fired at Ultron. He raised both hands and created a barrier around his body, bouncing the attacks off easily. Despite this Obi-Wan ignited his lightsaber just as Ahsoka jumped forward, stabbing her sabers into the barrier to break it. Ultron dropped it but grabbed Ahsoka in the process and pushed her back.

She landed on her feet near Obi-Wan, Mulan taking a stand next to him to indicate she was on their side, before he said “For a droid you don’t seem very smart. You don’t honestly think you can take us on your own.”

[You assumptions are misled, human.] Ultron replied. [I did not come alone.]

Suddenly from the brushes nearby everyone tensed before seeing more robots appear. These were not like the battle droids the clones and Jedi had fought before. These were different in design and were more similar to Ultron in appearance. All had glowing red face-like features on their heads which added an eerie sense they were looking at the assembled group before them.

With a little surprise in her eyes Ahsoka simple said “This doesn’t look like it’ll end well...”

Aladdin and Jasmine were flying through the outskirts of Agrabah on the magic flying carpet enjoying the day. Ever since their little adventure that brought the two together Aladdin and Jasmine often needed these little excursions to get away from the busy life of being royalty.

“So where are we off to now, Aladdin?” Jasmine asked with an enthused smile on her face.

“Found this amazing oasis a little way out from the city.” He answered, constantly looking back and forth between her and the view ahead. “I think you’re going to love it.”

She gave a little annoyed look and asked “And when did you take the time to find this?”

He gave a bashful shrug and confessed “I might have been sneaking out at times.” Seeing Jasmine’s annoyance rise he said “Hey! I’m not as used to the palace life as you are. I need to get a little breathing room now-and-then. Just trust me on this. You’re going to love-”

Before they knew it the sky lite up in a blinding flash of light and a giant boom ran out across the sky. They both ducked and covered their ears as the carpet almost dropped from the sky. The moment it came it passed, Aladdin gaining control of the carpet back before they’d fallen to the sandy ground.

“What just happened?” Jasmine frantically asked.

Aladdin began to answer with “I don’t…” before seeing something that made him shout “Look out!”

He veered the magic carpet out of the way or what appeared to be a giant tentacle in the middle of the desert. The turn was too much of a cut, practically forcing both Aladdin and Jasmine falling off the carpet and onto the sand. They rolled when they laded while the carpet skidded into its own landing.

Aladdin groaned before looking to where Jasmine was and asking “Are you alright?”

“I think so.” She said as she picked herself up before turning back ad gasping “What in the world is that?”

Aladdin looked past her to see the odd creature that seemed to spawn out of the sand; as well as the thing responsible for their crashing. A pit with tentacles and a snapping maw squealed and snapped while its arms moved about as if waiting for any prey to wander by.

As the two looked shocked and confused one of the Sarlacc’s tentacles reached out, snagging Jasmine by the leg before trying to pull her in. She yelled as Aladdin reached out and grabbed her hand. He tried to pull her back but the creature was proving to be strong on its own.

All the while Jasmine kept yelling “Help me, Aladdin! Help!”

During another busy day in the hustling, bustling Metroville gun shots were fired as the bank was being held up by a group of masked robbers. Four of them were inside the bank while one stood guard outside and another waited in the getaway-van. Within a few moments the group inside managed to clean out nearly all the money in the safe, telling all customers and employees not to try anything funny without risking being shot. After that all of them scrambled into the van and made their escape.

As the criminals drove off, turning down one street, the driver gasped when he saw a red-clad superhero standing in the middle of the road. He pushed the brakes but the van was still about to hit him. The hero held out both hands and caught the van, stopping it dead in its tracks thanks to his super strength.

As the robbers all looked Mr. Incredible smirked and said “Sorry for damaging the ride, fellas. But from the looks of it you have enough to afford a new one. And probably some good lawyers while you’re at it.”

As the robbers panicked the back of the van was suddenly forced open, two of the robbers being pulled out by a pair of stretching arms. The others looked back to see the former Elasti-Girl, now known as Mrs. Incredible, standing there with a heroic smile while holding the two men up by the backs of their collars.

Two more men drew their guns and fired at her, only for some unseen force field to block their shots. In the confusion some of the men tried to run, only for Mr. Incredible to catch one while another was stopped by some invisible force that tripped him to the ground before knocking him out with a smack from his gun. With him and the others down Violet made herself visible.

“Nice work, honey.” Mrs. Incredible said, dealing with the two she’d caught. “Is that all of them?”

Violet noticed as one last robber was running away, pointing out “Missed one.”

The man tried to run, not looking back towards the others, before something zipped by in his path and stopped him. He looked around confused before the same thing happened, this time his gun and money taken from his hands. After that the same force zipped around him, landing one quick punch after another until he was knocked off his feet.

With the last crook down the younger of the Incredible stopped and said “Yeah! Score one for ‘the Dash’!”

“Are we keeping score now?” his sister sarcastically asked. “If we are then technically mom’s in the lead by five.”

They all shared a quick laugh before taking a few minutes to secure the bank robbers. Mr. Incredible finished things off by tying the men together with a metal pipe. A moment later the heroes could hear the sound of applause, many nearby coming over to congratulate them for another successful heroic deed.

“And here comes the best part of the day.” Dash smirked, taking in the limelight.

“Don’t let it go to your head, son.” Mr. Incredible said while waving and smiling. “Just soak it in first and then take it in bit by bit before…”

“Alright, settle down, honey.” Mrs. Incredible elbowed him. “Don’t let him start picking up your glory-hogging antics.”

“Too bad Jack-Jack couldn’t be here for this.” Violet pointed out.

Mr. Incredible shrugged it off and said “Well Edna was insistent on making more changes to his uniform. Besides she’s a better babysitter than most.”

Dash, after a few more moments of taking in the glory, said “As fun as this is why did it have to be bank robbers again? We should be going after some real villains. Or maybe like a giant monster. Something like that!”

The moment was interrupted when a thunderous boom went out and the sky seemed to light everything up to the point where no one could see. Everyone took cover, even the Incredibles, before everything subsided as soon as it happened.

“What the heck was that?” Violet asked, looking around as everyone else did.

“No idea.” Mrs. Incredible answered. Looking to her kids she asked “Are you two okay?”

When they confirmed they were Mr. Incredible suddenly looked and said “Uh…guys…” pointing to something nearby.

The ground suddenly shook as everyone looked, the citizens screaming, as several giant creatures came into view. They were human-like but had white skin and blue hair and burning red eyes. In their hands they carried giant weapons while the air around them seemed to grow colder.

As the frost giants stomped around the city Violet, looking to Dash, said “You had to ask for giant monsters, didn’t you?”

“I don’t understand.” Mr. Incredible began. “Where did they even come from?”

Another boom of thunder came, though this one wasn’t like the one before. It was normal, in a way, and cracked across the sky with a bolt of lightning. The sky grew cloudier and darker, which drew the attention of the frost giants as well. In the sky a figure came floating down, even the Incredible seeing as he was armored with a flowing red cape, long blonde locks and a powerful hammer in his hand.

“Maybe that guy knows.” Dash pointed out, Violet’s eyes lighting up at the sight of the handsome man in the air.

With his focus only on the giants Thor cried out “Have at thee, foul demons of winter! Come and have a taste of Mjolnir!”

With that he charged down towards the giants, the Incredible all looking and shrugging before deciding to head into battle as well.

On the swampy planet of Dagobah the former Jedi Master Yoda sat in meditation. The small, green alien was one with the force while sitting in the middle of the swampy terrain, nothing but the noise of nature around him.

His thoughts were suddenly interrupted by a flash in the sky and a near earth-shaking boom. He fell but picked himself up, the odd phenomenon passing as soon as it came. Yoda looked around, seeing everything was fine, and yet deep down he had sensed a disturbance.

Yoda sensed something approaching, he turning to see as a small light seemed to zip through the swamp towards him. Curiously he watched before it came closer and closer until he could see it was, of all things, a human girl with wings.

Tinkerbell stopped when she saw Yoda, looking at him oddly while the Jedi said “Hello. Lost are you?” She responded with a twinkling sound, he humming before saying “Speak like a bell you do. An interesting creature you are, yet your species I have never heard of.” She said more before he nodded and said “A fairy, you say? Odd. Never heard of your people have I.” She curiously said more before he answered “Yes. Through the force I understand you. Now, your name tell me and what you are running from?”

As if to answer more sounds were soon heard, several people coming through the swamp. Tinkerbell hid behind Yoda while he simply watched as the figures of Captain Hook and a band of his pirates eventually came into view. All of them stopped and looked oddly at the little green creature before them.

“Swaggle me eyes. What is that? Some sort of hobgoblin?” Hook asked aloud as the other pirates were confused as well.

“Chasing this little fairy are you?” Yoda asked. “I would ask that you leave her alone and return to where you came from in peace. Yes.”

Hook and the others laughed him off while drawing their swords, the captain saying “Large talk from such a small fellow. Maybe we’ll take you both back, aye?”

While Tinkerbell looked worried Yoda only smirked and replied “Peaceful I tried to be. Warn you I did.”

As the odd thunderous boom and flash of light subsided everyone in Avengers tower looked around oddly at what had just happened. The team, consisting of Captain America, Iron Man, Falcon, the Wasp, Ant-Man, the Vision and Black Panther all curiously checked to see that both they, the tower, and the rest of New York city was okay.

“So I’m not the only one who just heard that, right?” Ant-Man asked, looking around while standing atop the Vision’s shoulder.

“You mean the big flash and what sounded like a grenade almost going off in my ear, then yeah pretty much.” Iron Man responded before looking to one of the advanced monitors nearby and asking “Friday? Any info?”

[Nothing yet, boss.] the feminine artificial voice responded. [The city is intact, however. And there doesn’t seem to be any signs of an attack.]

“So…maybe it was just a freak lightning strike or something?” Falcon suggested. “Maybe Thor just showing off to Jane again?”

Captain America gave a concerned hum before saying “Can’t be. He went back to Asgard. Something about the frost giants causing trouble again. I don’t know. Might be nothing. But then again maybe not…”

“Old fashioned paranoia starting to kick in, Cap?” Wasp quipped while buzzing around. “Or is this one of those ‘gut feelings’ you’re getting?”

“Call it a bit of both.” He replied. “Maybe it is nothing but I’m not willing to rule anything out.”

Panther, having walked over to another monitor, spoke up and said “Captain, you may want to see this.”

He and the other Avengers all came over to see as Panther blew up a news feed onto a larger screen. Everyone had the same confused look as reports were coming in of what appeared to be two pirate ships that manifested from nowhere into the New York harbor.

Ant-Man gave an awkward hum before asking “Is there some kind of faire going on or something?”

Watching more of the footage the Vision responded “I doubt one that would use real gun powder. We should intervene.”

Cap agreed, about to assemble the team together, before a call came in. Friday had notified everyone that it was coming from Reed Richards, a.k.a. Mr. Fantastic of the Fantastic Four, calling from the Baxter Building.

Iron Man answered and, as a visual of his head appeared, answered “Were sort of in the middle of something, Reed. Whatever it is might have to wait.”

“This is important, Tony!” Reed replied. “My scanners picked up odd readings from whatever that flash in the sky was. I think you’ll want to see it.”

Both Iron Man and Cap looked at each other before the latter replied “We’ll be there, Reed.” After that he ended the call and said to Iron Man “You go with Falcon, Wasp and Ant-Man. Deal with whatever’s going on with those ships.” He turned to Black Panther and the Vision before saying “The rest of us will go see what Reed’s found.” With everyone agreed to the plan he declared “Alright everyone, move out!”

As the Avengers split up, Iron Man’s group flying towards the harbor, the two ships continued their battle at sea; in a sense. The Black Pearl’s crew all scrambled to return fire as the Flying Dutchman continued to bombard them.

From the deck of the Flying Dutchman, the sea devil known as Davy Jones called out “Jack Sparrow! You’re debt will be settled, one way or another!”

Jack Sparrow, the captain of the Black Pearl, called back “Now let’s try and not get ahead of ourselves fish-face. Look! A big green woman!” He pointed and looked as Davy Jones did, both seeing the Statue of Liberty nearby and being confused by it. Jack’s initial reaction was “Oh blimey. There actually is one this time.” Only to then see the large city just beyond with towering buildings. “That’s interesting…”

Princess Merida awoke to find herself in a strange place. Her eyes had finally opened after the flash of light near blinded her and the sudden booming sound caused her to cover her ears. When she closed them she had been in the middle of the forest in the land of her family but now she was somewhere completely different.

The area was barren and rocky, a lot of crevasses scattered about, cutting some of the land into pieces. The sky was an unusual purplish color with many dark storm clouds on the horizon or passing in front of the sun. Upon looking into the sky, however, Merida realized there wasn’t just a sun but three different moons, possibly planets, above as well.

Frantically Merida looked around before calling “Mum? Da?” without hearing anything. “Harris? Hubert? Hamish? We are you?” She looked back to the sky before asking herself “Where am I for that matter?”

She searched for a moment before hearing something nearby. The sound of small rocks tumbling gained her attention to where she drew her bow with an arrow at the ready. Looking towards the boulder the sound came from she took a few cautious steps forward before whatever it was came into view.

Merida gasped as BB-8, the little rolling droid, popped from behind the rock. She fired and arrow out of instinct, bouncing off the droid but making it give a little whine. Seeing it didn’t go through Merida drew another bow before someone else came out as well. At least one, to Merida’s relief, was a girl.

Rey, seeing Merida and what she’d done, said “Hey! Leave my friend alone!”

“You’re friend?” Merida asked. “That….whatever that is, is your friend?”

“What?” Rey asked while drawing her tech-staff. “You’ve ever seen a BB droid unit before?”

Merida only gave an even bigger confused look before saying “Look, I don’t know what’s going here but you’d better tell me who you are or where I am before I let this arrow go right into you!”

“We’re just as lost as you are, okay?” Rey retorted. “One minute I’m on Anch-To, training, and then there was this flash in the sky. And some big boom and then-”

“You woke up here…” Merida finished, both starting to realize they were in the same situation. “Looks like were in something of the same sticky situation then, aye?”

“Looks like it.” Rey replied, still keeping her weapon in-hand as Merida did. “Maybe we should consider trying to work together instead of killing each other. Agreed?”

It only took Merida a moment to decide before saying “Alright then.” Dropping her bow before adding “But don’t try anything funny while me back is turned.”

As Rey dropped her staff she said “Trust me, if I do I won’t waste my time.” Both she and her droid approached before she said “I’m Rey. This is BB-8.”

After the droid gave a little beep as a reply she waved at it before saying “I’m Merida. Princess Merida, from the lands of DunBroch.”

Rey gave an odd look before replying “No system I’ve ever heard of.” When Merida question what she meant by ‘system’ she waved it off and said “Never mind. So, Merida, do you have any idea as to what the heck is going on?” When Merida shook her head Rey nodded and said “Oh good. Me neither…”

Flying over the eastern seaboard of the United States the S.H.I.E.L.D. helicarrier continued its usual patrol. Inside everyone monitored the number of situations happening both within the U.S. and throughout the world. Anything and everything that could mean a local or global threat was kept under constant surveillance.

Two of S.H.I.E.L.D.’s top agents, codenames Black Widow and Hawkeye, were also overlooking the monitor work before they turned to see Director Nick Fury, as well as agent Maria Hill, his second-in-command, enter the main deck of the helicarrier.

“Barton. Romanov.” Fury addressed the two as he walked up to the platform overlooking the rest of the deck. “Give me an update.”

“Everything’s quiet so far, Fury.” Black Widow replied. “Some distress in the southwest region, but nothing local forces haven’t been able to keep under control.”

“Better safe than sorry.” Fury replied. “Keep a detachment on standby in case. And what about our missing persons case?”

Hawkeye now answered with “Checked in with the Avengers. Last thing they heard was the Maximoff Twins were on their way to Latveria before things went dark.”

Fury turned and asked “They went to deal with Dr. Doom alone?”

“It was supposed to be just a recon mission.” Hawkeye explained. “Apparently Doom was connected to some business Stark and the others ran into with Hydra. The trail almost went cold a little while after. I told them we were looking into it and we’d let them know.”

Fury nodded before Maria Hill added “If they’re caught then we’d have to mount some sort of rescue. But with Doom’s political status we can’t exactly charge in, guns blazing.”

Fury looked to Widow and Hawkeye before commenting “Well there’s always the old fashioned way.”

The two smirked, Fury about to say more, before a sudden burst of light and a near deafening boom went out across the sky. The helicarrier shook and almost dropped from the air as everyone felt themselves dropping out of their seats or falling to a knee on the ground. The shock was over almost as soon as it began, everyone scrambling back to make sure everything was okay.

“Report!” Fury barked the moment he was back to his feet.

One agent replied “No idea, sir. The readings didn’t have enough time to get any sort of warning or alert. It’s like whatever it was just happened and left.”

“A big explosion in the sky just happens?” Hawkeye asked before adding “Sounds more than a little weird.”

Looking towards the widow of the deck Widow’s mouth dropped as she said “Yeah, well I’ve got something better…” before pointing to what she and soon everyone else was seeing.

A ship had appeared in the sky near the Helicarrier. It wasn’t familiar to any of them but all knew it wasn’t anything built on Earth. It was triangular in shape and seemed a little bigger than the helicarrier itself in terms of diameter. While none knew what it was, Fury even asking aloud, anyone who knew it would call it a Star Destroyer.

“Where did that come from?” Maria hill asked aloud.

Fury looked to one of the agents who, aghast, answered “I’ve no idea, sir. It just….appeared!”

Colonel Fury quickly scrambled and ordered “Prime all forward batteries and get out flyers in the air. That thing so much as makes a move that doesn’t look right, open fire!” He then turned to others and said “Try to get some sort of coms set up. I want to know who or what’s on that ship and where they came from!” Finally he looked to Widow and Hawkeye and said “I want both of you ready to take a team onto that ship if things get hostile.”

Hawkeye, looking back towards the ship, pointed and said “A bit late for that I think.”

Fury looked to see as dozens of what looked like alien fighters flew through the sky towards them. They didn’t seem to attack yet but were patrolling around the skies to keep a close watch on the helicarrier and the jets it now sent into the air in response.

Meanwhile on the Star Destroyer itself the officers of the Galactic Empire were trying to determine where they were, what system they were on and if the odd ship before them was friend or foe. The captain of the starship kept consulting the officers, all having the same answer of not having any information about where they were or what type of ship had appeared in front of them.

During his time trying to gain information he didn’t realize as the true commander of the vessel walked onto the deck, accompanied by a highly decorated Grand Admiral blue-skinned alien officer. The dark robed figured looked out to see the ship in the air, despite the captain coming up to him to speak, while breathing heavily enough to send a chill through the air.

The captain approached him cautiously reported “Forgive me, Lord Vader, but we’ve yet to gain any sort of bearing as to where we are or-”

“That ship.” Darth Vader said, cutting him off. “It seems so….primitive.” He walked forward, the captain stepping aside, in order to take a closer look. “That brand.” He pointed to the symbol of an eagle on the side, “Is that some sort of Rebel support group?”

“Not as far as we know, my lord.” The captain answered. “Are scans are trying to run a diagnostics now, and we’ve been unable to connect any forms of communication. It’s possible they do not have the sort of technology, or we’re being blocked.”

Vader was silent for a moment before calling “Grand Admiral Thrawn.” The admiral walked up next to him, also looking at the ship, before he asked “Your suggestions?”

“They don’t seem likely to withstand a full assault.” He began to contemplate aloud. “However we’ve no idea where we are or what system we’re in. It might be best to take as many as we can alive before deciding whether or not to destroy them. Caution however is key, my lord.”

After hearing all of that Vader replied “I can sense it. They’re just as confused as we are.” He finally spoke to Admiral Thrawn and decided “Send a detachment. See if you can board that vessel while we keep them occupied. Find their commander. Bring them to me.”

With a deep bow Thrawn agreed and exited, ordering the nearest Stormtrooper to ready his battling equipment. The captain, who’d been standing nearby in silence the whole time, simply went back to ordering the officers to ready weapons and stay on stand-by with the TIE fighters. All the while Darth Vader silently looked out to the scene before him, questioning what all of this could mean.
