Description
The horrible, dead figure of Cyborg's mother was now gripping him by the shoulders. More of her regular skin had fallen off, revealing the dead skin underneath. Even parts of her clothes had now become torn and mangled."You could have done something, Victor." She continued to moan, as Cyborg recoiled in disgust and horror. "You could have tried to help."
"I was hurt too!" he tried to say. "There was nothing I could..."
"Lies!" she said. "You could have tried, but you didn't. You just didn't care for me, did you?"
"No. That's not true!" he said, now trying to push her away.
"You didn't love me anymore!"
"GET AWAY!" he shouted in a panicked tone, finally pushing past her and running out of the hall.
Cyborg found himself running as fast as he could down the hall, not sure of where to go. As long as it was far away from the horrible things he was seeing. But in his mind, he kept hearing what she had said over and over.

Raven saw as she was surrounded by the fire demons. She quickly raised her hands and concentrated.
"Azarath. Metrion. Zinthos!"
A blast of her magic hit the demons, making them disappear. She then looked to her demonic father and fired another bolt. But as she did, the magic seemed to distort and suddenly disperse into pieces that fell to the ground and disappeared.
"You're letting your emotions get the better of you." He said, smirking at this. "You're afraid, daughter."
She glared at the realization that he was right. She looked around and found and opening to escape. She jumped down and slid under his legs and to the door. She managed to reach the hallway and start running for it, but she could hearing the booming voice of Trigon and she even glanced back to see the flames lighting up the hallway, chasing after her.
"You have nowhere to run, child!" he boomed. "Your friends cannot be trusted to save you now! You cannot escape!"
She only kept running, trying her best to control her emotions but finding herself slowly giving in to the fear creeping in her mind.

Beast Boy looked at Terra, still seeing the smirk on her face, before roaring and grabbing her by the collar of her suit and pinning her against a wall in his room.
"You're not the real Terra!" he said. "You're not even real anything!"
"Aren't I?" she said before grabbing his arms and gripping them tightly.
Beast Boy suddenly found himself falling to his knees as he felt the pressure of her gripping them harder and harder. He looked up, despite the pain, and saw as Terra's face began to change.
"You're right." She said. "I'm not the Terra you knew. I'm the Terra that should've been. But I'm real all the same."
As she spoke, her face became more like that of a carved statue. Her eyes then began to glow the yellow glow that Terra's did whenever she used her powers. Beast Boy suddenly began to see what she was resembling: she looked more and more like the frozen remains of Terra that had been left underground. He finally managed to pull his hands out of her grip and ran out the hallway. As he ran, he kept hearing the mocking laughter of Terra's voice in his ears.

Starfire was thrown through another wall and was out in a hallway again. She picked herself up in time to see Blackfire try to land another punch on her. She managed to dodge it and slammed her fist into her right cheek. Blackfire reacted as if she hardly felt a thing before trying to punch her again. Starfire managed to dodge this, but didn't manage to do so for another one that came right after. She stumbled back before trying to kick her sister in the stomach, only for her to catch her leg and swing her over and slam her to the ground. She tried to crawl away but was stopped when Blackfire swung and slammed her to the ground again.
"Getting tired, baby sister?" Blackfire said, finally letting her go.
Starfire stood up, faced her sister, and tried to fire another pair of starbolts from her hands. But, as before, they didn't work.
"No more powers, Starfire." Blackfire said. "And you can't beat me with strength. You're out of that too. So what now?"
Starfire had only one choice: she began to run down the hallway, away from Blackfire. She could here as her sister laughed at this.
"That's right, sister!" she called. "Run as far as you like. Because you can't run far enough!"

Robin and Slade were still engaged in their private fight. Robin had managed to jumped over and try to hit Slade from behind, but he quickly turned in time to catch his arm and toss him over and into the couch in the room. He hit it and rolled over to the other side. As Slade came closer Robin jumped out from behind the couch, hi staff in hand, and swung at him. He managed to land a blow across Slade's face but this only made him back up a few steps.
"How did you even get in here?" Robin said, standing on the top of the couch now. "The Tower's on complete lockdown."
"Nothing can keep me out, Robin." He said. "Not even your childish defenses."
He suddenly kicked the couch out from under his feet, making Robin jump over him again and try to swing his staff at his back. Slade managed to catch it and take a forceful chop to the side he had, breaking the staff. Robin tossed the remains away and started fighting hand-to-hand again. He gave one jab after another, only for Slade to either dodge or block it. He finally found an opening and managed to land a blow right to Slade's stomach. But Slade looked up at him and didn't seem to mind the blow. It was as if he didn't feel it at all. As Robin recoiled Slade merely brushed some dust off his shoulder.
"Clever, little Robin." He said, putting his hands behind his back now. "I'll admit, you've been keeping on your toes."
"I'll find a way to stop you, Slade." Robin said. "And I'll stop whatever it is your planning."
"I don't think you should be concerned with me, Robin." He said, putting his arms to his side now. "I think you should be more worried about him."
Slade pointed behind Robin just as the door behind him opened. Robin turned to see something coming from out of the darkness of the hallway. It was Beast Boy. His eyes seemed wild and angry.
"Beast Boy?" Robin said seeing him.
He glanced back to see Slade was gone. He has completely disappeared. He turned back to see Beast Boy, looking at him with those wild eyes.
"Beast Boy, listen to me." He said, putting his hands up trying to calm him down. "Whatever's happening isn't real."
"I'm not worthless!" he said to him, as if he didn't hear what Robin said. "Don't even think about calling me weak!"
"Beast Boy, calm down." Robin pleaded.
"I'll show you who's nothing!" BB said before suddenly turning into a gorilla and jumping for Robin.
Robin managed to jump out of the way as his massive fists came smashed to the ground. BB turned as swung his arm at Robin, making him duck in time before being knocked away.
"I don't want to hurt you!" Robin said as he ducked a punch by BB. "Try and snap out of it!"
The green gorilla only roared at him before balling his fists together and bringing them down towards Robin. He managed to duck under his legs before he could be crushed and once behind him, Robin had to kick him in the back in order to slow him down. BB stumble but turned, now morphing into a tiger, and jumped at Robin with his claws and teethed bared. Robin managed to pull out a second staff from his belt and extend it before BB could slice his throat. He fell to the ground, holding BB back with his staff, a part of it shoved in his mouth to avoid him biting down, and both ends holding the claws back, and the two struggled. Robin finally managed to flip BB over and made him hit the couch before falling behind it. Robin got up, taking advantage of the opportunity, and started to make for the door to his left. He needed to make sure the others were alright before trying to figure out what to do. The moment he reached the door, however, it opened and Cyborg was standing there. He had the same wild look as BB did, only his seem more hurt than angry.
"Cyborg?" Robin said, seeing him. "Are you alright?"
"It wasn't my fault." Cy suddenly said. "I couldn't do anything."
"Oh no." Robin said, hearing this. "Listen to me, Cyborg, you have to try and calm down. Think about where you are. What you're..."
"I didn't know what to do!" he suddenly said. "Don't call me a monster because of that!"
"Listen to me!" Robin pleaded. "Whatever you're hearing or seeing isn't real!"
Suddenly Cyborg changed his arm into a cannon and fired it at Robin. He ducked before he could be hit, but the blast attracted the attention of BB who was now on his feet. Too BB all he saw were distorted versions of the Doom Patrol, laughing at him or calling him out as worthless or pathetic. He got angrier before turning into a raptor and jumping for the two. Robin ducked away as BB ran straight for Cy. To CY, both BB and Robin looked like the horrible undead version of his mother he'd seen before. And one was running right at him. BB slammed into Cy and tried to bite down on his arm. Cy managed to throw him back and tried to fire his cannon, but BB turned into a bird and avoided the blast. He flew back before changing into a lion and running towards him. Robin jumped in between both of them, making them stop for a moment, as he held his hands up to both of them.
"Both of you, STOP!" he said. "Try and understand! You're both hallucinating!"
They both didn't listen and instead tried to attack him, Cy trying to punch him while BB tried to swipe at him with his claws. Robin ducked as both of them clashed together and was forced to roll out of the way before being caught in the middle. He looked to see as the two of them continued to fight and realized what he needed to check on Starfire and Raven to make sure they were ok and perhaps be able to help him calm the others down. He ran for the nearest door which he managed to open. Once he went through he bumped into something. He stumble back and stood ready to fight whatever it was, but lowered his arms when he saw who it was.
"Starfire?" he asked, seeing her standing in the same position ready to fight.
"Robin?" she said, seeing him as if he were a ghost. "Is that really you?"
"Yeah, it's me."
She suddenly hugged him and said. "I thought you were dead." She looked up to his face and said "I saw..." she stopped when she saw Beast Boy and Cyborg fighting. "Friends!" she said to them, now walking towards them. "Why are you...?"
She was stopped when Robin out his hand on her shoulder, saying "They can't help it, Star. They're seeing things that aren't there and it's driving them crazy."
"But why?" she said. "Who is responsible for....Blackfire."
"What?"
"Blackfire." Star said to him. "I saw her. I do not know how, but she made me see things. And she somehow made me lose my powers."
"It's not Blackfire." He said. "But I think I know who. But first we need to stop them before they tear each other apart."
"But what about...?" Starfire began to say before seeing the door on the left of the room open. "Raven?" she said, seeing her friend.
"Have to stop it.." she was saying, looking over the room "...need to stop him from coming back!"
"Raven!" Starfire said, running over to her.
"Starfire, wait!" Robin said to her as she was already running over to her.
Star had already ran up to Raven and tried to see her face from under the hood.
"Raven, are you alright?" she said.
She finally saw Raven's eyes. They were just as Beast Boy's and Cyborg's: wild and insane.
"NO!" Raven shouted when Starfire touched her. "I won't let you destroy this world!"
She suddenly blasted her magic at her, sending Starfire back and landing into Robin's arms. Both landed on the ground while Raven looked over at Cyborg and Beast Boy. To her, all she saw were fire demons that were screeching and roaring at her. Raven suddenly joined the fray of the others fighting while Starfire and Robin picked themselves up.
"We need to stop this." Starfire said.
"And I have an idea." Robin declared as he pulled out a small spraying tube from his belt. "But I need your help."
"But...I do not have my powers anymore." She said.
"Yes you do, Star. It's all in your mind. You're seeing and feeling things that you're afraid of."
"Afraid?"
"Yes. You need to look past it, Starfire. Realize none of its really real."
She looked down at her hands and held them up. She closed her eyes and concentrated before they finally began to glow. So did her eyes once she opened them. She smiled at him, seeing he was right.
"Alright." He said. "Now come on."
Both of them leapt to action. Starfire flew right into the fray and managed to separate the three teen heroes from fighting each other. Once He had hit the floor, Beast Boy changed back to his normal form. Before he could stand to fight again, Robin grabbed him in a choke hold and used the spraying tube to knock him out. Starfire had started struggling with Cyborg, both gripping each other by the hand and trying to push the other back.
"Please forgive me, Cyborg." She said, still struggling. "But you leave me no choice!"
She fired her eye beams at him and sent him back. Cyborg began to stand but Robin jumped in front of him sprayed him, making him fall on his back, knocked out. Robin and Starfire nodded to each other, seeing he was down, before both being suddenly attacked by a forest of dark tentacles. As both were being wrapped up they could see they were coming from Raven, who was floating in the air as the darkness that sprouted into the tentacles came from underneath her cloak. As both Robin and Starfire struggled while being pulled in, Robin dropped his spraying tube and couldn't reach it. As both came closer, Starfire managed to create a large flash of light with her starbolts. This blinded Raven, making her drop both of them. Now free, Robin ran back and picked up the spraying tube. Starfire took advantage of Raven's condition and flew behind her. She grabbed her in a bear hug and forced her down to the ground. As they struggled, Robin managed to get close enough and spray Raven. She too fell to the ground and Robin and Starfire gave a sigh of relief.
"That was, how you earthlings say, 'close.'" She said. She looked at all of them, knocked out and asked "Will they be alright?"
"They will be." Robin said, holding up the tube. "It's just a little knock-out gas with an anti-toxin in it."
"Then this 'anti-toxin' will help?"
"It should. Let's get them on the couch."
She nodded and both of them managed to get all three of them on the couch. Starfire had to lift Cyborg in order to sit him down, while Robin dealt with Raven and Beast Boy. They were now all propped up on the couch, Cyborg in the middle while Raven was to the left and Beast Boy to the right, and both of them tried to wake them.
"Cyborg?" Starfire said, leaning down and shaking him. "Cyborg can you hear me?"
Suddenly he began to wake, his human eye fluttered a bit, and looked to see them.
He started to rub his head, groaning, while "Man, did I sleepwalk into a boxing match or something?"
"Oh Cyborg!" she said, hugging him now. "You are alright."
Suddenly Raven began to wake, groaning herself as Robin went over to her. She pulled off her hood and rubbed her head.
"You ok?" he asked
"Aside from the headache, I'm peachy." She said, in her usual tone. "What happened?"
"I'll explain in a second." He said before walking over to Beast Boy. "Beast Boy?" he said, shaking him, lightly. "Beast Boy, wake up."
BB mumbled in his sleep, saying "I didn't know the cookies go there..."
Robin face-palmed himself before shaking Beast Boy harder. BB finally woke, giving a slight "AH" before seeing everyone around him.
"Hey, why are you guys in my...." he looked and saw h was in the living room. "....uh, did I miss something?"
"You were all fighting each other." Starfire said, now standing in front of them. "Robin and I had to stop you."
"You mean....you mean that wasn't a dream?" Cy asked. "I was really fighting?"
"Whoa." BB said. "So it wasn't just me?"
"I thought I saw...." Raven began to say, before stopping.
"You were all under the influence of a specialized toxin." Robin said. "It made you hallucinate. You were seeing some of your worst fears made real."
All of them look down and realized why they saw what they saw.
"That would explain a lot." Raven said. "I thought I was fighting Trigon and his forces again. But I kept saying that it couldn't be true."
"I saw...." Cyborg began "...I saw my mother."
"Sorry to hear that." Robin said, before looking to Beast Boy. "You?"
"Terra." He said, casting his head away for a moment. "She was saying that I was worthless and you all hated me. Sure I was afraid, but then I got really angry about it."
"Sometimes when you fight fear," Raven began "you end up channeling it into another emotions. Usually anger."
"But what about me?" Starfire asked Robin. "Why did I see things at first and then not? And why did my powers not work?"
"I'm not sure." He said. "Maybe the toxin has different effects on your kind. But you still couldn't use your powers because the toxin made you think you didn't have them anymore. One of your fears right?"
"Yes." She said, casting her head down. "That and the death of my friends."
"So how did you know what to do?" BB asked Robin
"I've run into this kind of thing before." He said. "I had the anti-toxin ready if the situation ever came up again."
"Talk about being prepared." Raven added.
"What I wanna know is who 's behind this?"
"I think I can answer that." A voice behind them said.
All turned to see Slade walking out from the front door of the room.
"Slade." Starfire said in an angered tone.
"Had to guess." BB said as he and the others stood ready for a fight.
"You've got a lot of explaining to do." Robin threatened Slade
"Oh, Robin, you don't even realize it, do you?" he said
"And what's that?"
"That all of this was never to simply scare you..."
Suddenly the door to the left opened and Trigon stepped through.
"It was all to test you." He said, as the figure of Blackfire suddenly emerged from behind him.
"Trying to drive you all insane..." she said
The door to the right opened and Terra and Cy's Mom stepped out.
"Driving you to eventually rip each other apart..." Terra said
"Saving us from doing any of the dirty work." Cy's mom finished.
"Uh....I'm not the only one seeing this, right?" BB asked.
"Robin?" Raven said, not taking her eyes off the enemies that now surrounded them. "Please tell me you have a good explanation for this?"
The figures all walked to the center of the room and as they met, they slowly began to melt and fuse together.
"Ewww." BB said. "And I thought Plasmus was gross."
"I was hoping to do this without getting my hands dirty." They all said, as they were slowly forming together now. "But desperate times and all that."
"What the heck is it?" Cyborg asked, as he changed his arm again and aimed the cannon at the morphing pile of enemies.
"I think I know." Robin said as he stepped in front of the group and took a few paces forward.
He stopped just a few feet in front of the still morphing pile, which now became a dull greyish color. No part of it even resembled any of the people it had taken the forms of before. Robin could see as it was starting to take shape from the bottom: a pair of legs, large and goopy, and then a torso and arms.
Robin looked up as it began to form a face and said "What are you doing here in Jump City...Clayface?"
Much to the shock of the others, it was true. It was Clayface. His face finally formed to reveal the large grinning mouth with yellow teeth. His eyes were a sunken black color with two small yellow pupils in the middle. Robin had talked about him before to the others, mentioning his ability to shape shift his body into any form.
"Good to see you still remember me, bird-boy." Clayface said. "Last time we tangoed, you left me on ice."
"Why do this?" Robin interrogated. "Why attack me or my friends?"
"Aside from personal business," he began to say "what better challenge for an actor than trying five parts all at once."
"You couldn't have done this on your own." Robin added.
"Very good, Robin." A voice from behind Clayface said, making everyone look to see. "Ever the little junior detective you are."
Once he was in the light, all could see who it as. He was dressed with a long black coat that covered his body. He wore a large pointed hat, that looked like a witches' hat you'd see in the movies. He wore gloves that made his hands look like those on a dolls. Finally, his face was covered by a mask that looked like that of something made from an old burlap sack and stitched in places to make a mouth and two eye holes. And from different parts of his costume, pieces of straw could be seen poking out.
"Scarecrow!" Robin said, recognizing another of his old villains.
"You were expecting, maybe, the Penguin?" he said before giving a chuckle. "It was all real easy, obviously. I spread my toxin throughout the tower, Clayface here provides a little more fuel for the insanity to feel real, and then you and your friends go mad and kill each other. It was all quite simple had you not been so productive as always."
"Why?" Robin said. "Why here and why now? Why wait after all this time to come after me?"
"On, poor deluded little Robin." Scarecrow said. "If you only knew the half of what was truly going on."
"So why don't you start telling me?"
"Tisk-tisk." He said, waving his finger. "Can't do that. Who do we look like, the Riddler? As fun as this is, I have a more pressing detail to deal with. Ta-ta for now, kiddies."
Scarecrow turned and walked away. Robin was about to go after him, but was stopped when Clayface stood in his way.
"Not trying to step out of the dance already, are we??" he said, looking as him and the other Titans.
"Titans GO!" Robin shouted, making all of them attack.
Starfire was the first to strike by shooting a barrage of starbolts at him. He took each of them, with each making an impact on his body, but he morphed everything back into place as if it was nothing. Cyborg fired his cannon at him but it went straight though him making a hole in his chest. He reformed it in time before Beast Boy, I the form of a bull, came charging at him. He ran right through Clayface and ended up hitting the wall behind him, covered in the muddy clay material that his body was made of.
"My turn!" Clayface said as he tossed his arms out, making them grow long, and pushing Starfire and Cyborg against the wall behind them.
Clayface looked up to see Raven getting ready to use her magic.
"Azarath. Metrion. Zin..."
She was stopped when he made a third arm appear and cover her mouth. It then began to encase her whole body in clay, as did Star and Cy. Robin took advantage of this and took his staff, smacking it against Clayface' head while he was busy. This made Clayface stumble back a bit, making him let the others go, Raven falling to the ground in the process. Robin then swung it again, but Clayface managed to catch it with his massive hand. He smacked Robin off of it and snapped it in two before throwing the pieces away. Raven, now back on her feet used her magic to create a blade-like object to slice Clayface's arms off. They fell to the ground but soon melted and moved back to join the full body, making them grow back. He looked over and spat a wad of clay from his mouth at her, sending her back.
"Delightful..." Raven said as she sat on the ground, covered in clay-spit.
Beast Boy attacked from behind, in the form of a rhino and tried to ram thought him again. This time, however, he was stopped in his tracks the minute he hit Clayface. He turned the whole upper half of his body around and looked down to give a threatening smile before picking BB up and tossing him over towards the others. BB managed to change to his normal self and fall next to Starfire, who was picking herself up after the last attack.
"Great." he said. "At this rate, I'm gonna be washing bad-guy out of my hair for weeks."
Robin suddenly jumped from behind Clayface and threw three explosive disks into him. The exploded inside him, making his body fly into pieces. Robin leapt over to help Raven out of her trap before they and the others looked to see the large pieces of Clayface slowly start to group back together.
"He is a most formidable opponent." Starfire said.
"Yeah." BB added. "Any ideas, Robin?" he asked
"Just one." He said. "You three," he indicated Raven, Beast Boy and Starfire "get behind him and keep him occupied." They nodded and went over to maneuver around Clayface. "Cyborg, remember that thing we said not to do unless it was an emergency?"
"Figured this counted." He said with a smirk to Robin.
Robin gave a similar smirk before saying "Get ready."
Once he finished, Robin went over with the others while Cyborg went over to the desktop of the computer/T.V. and pulled out one of the main wire from underneath it. As Clayface finally reformed, the four Titans attacked. Starfire and Raven barraged him with blasts of magic and starbolts. Robin threw his birdarangs at his head and Beast Boy changed into a falcon and scratched at his eyes. All of these attacks made Clayface back away more and more. He was soon standing in front of one of the large windows in the room next to the computer/T.V. screen. Robin indicated for the overs to move while he threw a pair of Freezing Disks at his feet, freezing them in place. Clayface looked down and tried to move, but he was stuck. He looked up just in time to see Cyborg, with a series of wires hooked up to his cannon arm, aiming his weapon at him.
"Get the heck out of my tower!" he said before blasting him.
The beam that came out was large and more powerful than Cy's usual blasts. It hit Clayface dead on with such force that he went flying, crashing through the window and down into the water below. The others all ran out and looked down, there no sigh of him.
"And Stay out." Cy said, lowering his weapon.
"Is he...?" BB began to say.
"Not likely." Robin said. "He's been through worse and made it out."
All of them looked as the lights to the room suddenly went out, and the emergency power lights, all red, kicked on.
"What was that?" Raven asked, indicated what Cyborg did.
"I converted all the power in the Tower into my cannon." He said, unhooking the wires from his arm. "Me and Robin came up with the idea in case of emergencies."
"We still need clear a few things." Robin said. "Beast Boy, go look for Scarecrow. And be careful if you find him."
"On it." He said before turning into a bloodhound and running off to where Scarecrow had left.
"I'll head down to reboot the power cores faster." Cyborg said, running off.
"While you're there be sure to check for anything in the ventilation systems." Robin call out before he was gone.
"Robin," Starfire began to ask "what is going on?"
"I'm not sure. But once we find either of them, I intended to find out."
"Seems odd that Clayface knew who to take the form of for each of us." Raven said.
"Which is making me think there's more to this than just some revenge scheme." Robin said.
In a few moments the lights to the Tower came back on, indicating Cyborg had managed to reboot the power source. Just then Robin's communicator went off.
"Robin here." He said, answering it.
"Robin, it's Kid Flash!"
"What's the trouble?" he said, hearing the worried tone in his voice.
"Jynx and I just got jumped by the some big baddies."
"You both ok?"
"Jynx took a pretty bad beating, but she's alive at least."
"Alright. Get over here. We can..." Suddenly the communicator form the computer screen went off. "Hold that thought."
He went over and activated it. The screen soon showed the face of Speedy on it.
"This is Titans East calling west!" he said, in the same worried tone that Kid Flash had.
"This is Robin. What's the situation, Speedy?"
"We just took a major beating from some villains that attacked us." He began. "Bumblebee's pretty hurt."
"What about Aqualad and the others?" Raven asked.
"They're fine, but the Tower's a wreck. We didn't know what we were up against until it was almost too late."
Robin began to ponder on this while Raven and Starfire exchanged worried glances.
Robin held up the communicator so Kid Flash could hear as he said "Alright, here's the plan. Speedy, tell Mas y Menos to get Bumblebee up to the Arctic."
"The Arctic?" he asked
"They'll be safer with Kole and Gnarrk then anywhere else. Once they're there, tell them to stay just in case. Kid Flash, you take Jynx there too. They should be able to help. Then I want both of you and Aqualad to meet us here at the tower."
"Gotcha." Kid Flash said before signing off.
"Right. See you then." Speedy quickly said before doing the same.
"What is going on?" Starfire asked. "Could it the Brotherhood of Evil again?"
"I'm not sure." He said. "Hopefully we'll get more answers once they get here."
Suddenly Beast Boy came running back into the room, now in his normal form.
"No sign of straw for brains." He said. "It's like he vanished."
Robin slammed his fist into his hand, saying "And now we're short one potential lead."
"Now what?" Raven asked.
Robin cast his head down. For once, he really wasn't sure what to do. Whatever was going on was much bigger than he thought, and all they had now was whatever information the others would have.
********************
In the water near Titans Tower, the slowly dissolving mass of Clayface continued to sink to the bottom. Suddenly a large submarine-like vessel came closer to him in the darkness of the water and used a hose-like device, that extended from itself, to suck him up.
The vessel itself was shaped like a large manta ray. It was completely black and had two large glass coverings on its front. They were red, matching the many smaller light that were here-and-there on it. On the fins of it were two massive missile-like objects that acted as thrusters for when it moved.
Inside the main control room of the craft, a group of men, all dressed in the same black diving suit-like uniforms with red goggles over their eyes, were busy working on the inner workings of the vessel. In the middle of the room was a glass dome that the hose-like device emptied the goopy mass of Clyface inside it. The dome lifted up and Clayface began to slowly reform. As he did, Scarecrow walked over to see him.
"Enjoy your swim?" he mockingly asked.
"I don't know." He said, not fully reformed. "How about I toss you out so you can try it for yourself?"
"Enough, you idiots." A demanding voice said.
They both looked to the center of the control room. There, sitting in the captain's chair, was the leader of this vessel, the Black Manta. He was dressed in a more advanced diving suit than the other men. He had a large pair of air tanks on his back, and armored chest plate and gauntlets and grieves. His head was covered with a large helmet. It had two large red eyes that glowed and was shaped like a manta ray's body. One large tube ran done from the back of it and attacked itself to the air tanks.
"So what do we do now?" Clayface asked Manta "The kids are still alive."
"That was the point all along." He said. " You played your part well, Clayface. It was never a matter of killing them, it was about sending the message."
"And what message would that be?" Scarecrow asked.
"That even when they think they have nothing to fear..." another voice said making all of them look to see Slade emerge from behind where Black Manta was sitting. "....there's always something more dangerous out there."
