So I watched this scene 33.media.tumblr.com/b4893ce129… and was reminded of this image 40.media.tumblr.com/2336218cce… and this popped into my head.

I guess it's a nightmare he's having while sleeping in despair on that torment wheel. He believes Dorothy is dead and he has failed her and Emerald City (reason why his badges have fallen off), so this nightmare is basically visual view of his feeling. Originally I was going to have him drowning in an ocean of despair but I figure that matches more Tin Man than Scarecrow.  I'm not going to do the others. I mainly did this because it popped into my head and since Scarecrow is my favorite character of the movie, I just decided to do this.

Quick thing, I don't see Dorothy and Scarecrow as a couple. I forgot that in the old movie that Hunk (human version of Scarecrow) was not an uncle to Dorothy despite acting more like it and that's sorta how I feel about this version of them. I just see Scarecrow as an uncle or older family member to Dorothy. Besides, I don't think a boyfriend would call his girlfriend "Kiddo"... Least I dunno, I think that would be a bit weird even on weird standards. That's just me though.

And yes I like this movie. I know it's got it's flaws but I still like it and I'm not even a Wizard of Oz fan so deal with it!

I'm confused by your comment...I didn't say he was her dad and I say uncle because because he sounds more like an uncle like figure...Not saying he was... : /

I think it would be creepy for them to be a couple considering how Scarecrow acts much older, like an adult, consider the old movie the Hunk character seems much older than Dorothy and Dorothy is like if any older 14. I dunno...It'd be one thing if Scarecrow was voice and acted like someone close to Dorothy's age, but as is, it's just creepy....

In Legends of Oz, Scarecrow is voiced by Dan Aykroyd who is in his 60s. That voice with a kid like Dorothy...Eh...That's a whole lot of nope for me!

I don't know if you got it the first time, but I finally, FINALLY saw Puppet Glinda.  Y'know what I say to that?  If you've seen Santa and the Ice Cream Bunny like I have, then I don't think even something like Puppet Glinda can scare you.

I know this doesn't relate to this in general, but I'm just saying.

BTW, looks good.  Love the flames.

I don't really like Glinda. I always thought she was a useless character in my opinion because she has all this power and sort of a jackass too, because I read the full summary to the first book. She could have told Dorothy she had the power all along to go back, but she didn't. They had to face more countless dangers just to see her, only for her to tell Dorothy she had the power to go back home all along and I know it's suppose to set up the story and help them grow, but it's still a jackass move to do! And in the old movie, she could have stopped her sister herself with all the magic she has! What happens? She doesn't do anything, she just gives Dorothy slippers. I get there are rules to magic and all in Oz, but if an evil witch is threatening the land and all, wouldn't be the wisest thing to help the people by forget the rules and kick the old hag's ass to kingdom come? I know that movie is trying to be cute and charming but still, Pretty Cure is cute and charming and they still kick ass.

And no, I didn't see any of the "scary stuff" in Legends as scary because when you watch Return to Oz, um, that movie has some freakin scary shit that made me jump out of my skin. In that movie, you have a woman that collects heads of people, the Scarecrow in Return was flipping scary as hell to me, talking mountains with demonic faces, a pumpkin headed scarecrow, a couch with a taxidermy moose head that talks, clown things on wheels and oh, let's not forget the electric shock therapy Dorothy has to go through because they think she's crazy...

After watching Return to Oz, I don't think people should complain about the stuff in Legends of Oz as being scary....Except maybe Jester but other than that, the "scary stuff" is mild compared to Return. No one should complain.

No and I really don't like answering notes from people I don't know very well.... It comes across as annoying to me unless it's some sort of notification that I need to address. Sorry. : /

Thank you and yes indeed. I could just imagine how he was feeling when Jester showed her fall into the waterfall. Poor thing... ;_;

All the time I was drawing this I was like "Poor Scarecrow...I'm sorry." cause I sorta felt bad. He's my favorite character in the movie but to put him in a emotional situation, oddly enough shows how much I adore this character. Willing to show a situation that makes him a bit more deeper as a character, definitely fits as being a fan of said character.

Thank you for the comment and glad you like! ^^

Wow, looks amazing yet disappointing to see scarecrow in despair like that but I still have faith that I know that scarecrow is really smart enough to onto that dorothy can still save oz and emerald city, but there is always hope to not giving up so soon,

Well yeah, but it's like I said. He's having a nightmare and subconscious thoughts can bring anyone down and when you're dreaming, half the time you don't even know you're in a dream, so you don't even think about hope when you're in a nightmare, you're just wanting to get the hell out. So he's sorta lost in his thoughts and his subconscious is showing him these thoughts. We know it's going to be alright but you can't help but be curious about how a character feels going through this situation. That's sorta what came of this image.

I see him on the wheel and I'm looking at him because before he fell a sleep, the Jester shoved it in his face literally that Dorothy was dead and it already looked like they were falling in despair, so that small bit of information must have at least crushed them. Shoot Scarecrow was surprised to see Dorothy alive, even asking if it was really her. I'm thinking a bit too far into it but I will say this. In away, him falling into despair like that actually makes him more realistic, as in everyone loses hope at one point or another, even too soon.

I mean if you think about it, you would feel like all is lost when you're stuck on a wheel and the person that is holding you captive, looks like the Joker's cousin and telling you, your dear friend and only hope for salvation is dead. That would cause anyone to lose a bit of hope no matter how smart they are.
