I can only speak for myself, but I find the hover and pressed versions too similar and my eyes can't really tell the difference. Especially on the forward button.

but anyway you are right, in my theme the color-difference is not very large, because the back-button is 4px (which is a lot) larger than the resource actually allows.. and this way it still won't be noticed..
