Description I liked how this turned out, but I think i'll probably change it within the weekend. I'm thinkin' cel shading, probably throwing in something extra in the background. Extra girls, smoke in the hallway, etc.

Very dramatic and fluid motion in the poses. ^^ Nicely done.

THanks. I've been trying to do more with dramatic poses, and feel this is one of my better ones.

I know this isn't exactly the advanced critique you're looking for, but I would just like to say I want to buy bracers than can deflect missiles shot at close range.

On a more serious note, I see what you said about "hurrying" through a piece. You've got serious talent and that takes time to cultivate. Don't always be in such a hurry to finish something unless you're really happy with it.

Two things that I notice with this piece that you definitely have gotten right is shadow and perspective - you wouldn't believe how often those are overlooked in most anime drawings on here.

haha, I always had a problem where I try to have my "masterpiece", and just about everytime, I get to a certain point where I tend to rush things. It's a very nasty habit i'm trying to overcome.

Maybe try doing one part of a piece at a time and work on it until you are completely happy with it, then move onto the next - like the background, the characters, the "special effects". Maybe that might help? If you start to feel rushed, take a step back and get a popsicle. Then once you have finished your frosty treat, try it again.

OH MY GOD, I personally don't have the patience to put in a background or even detail it like this, and usually when I release something, I just give up on it. But, no, Step by step eh?

The girl in the funky space suit. Her right leg needs fixing along the shadows.

She also may need some shading under her breasts on her skin, But not much, only to show some volume.

Hands are perfect enough that I'm jealous.

Was the blast in the wall going in? Or going out?

If it's going out, then you'll want along the outside of the hole it'll be chipped away on the outside and cracked walls on the inside. There will also be a smog heading out the building through the hole.

If it was an inward blast, there would be rubble and particles around the carpet, the smog would be greater in density around the characters. There would be more likely cracks on the outside wall than on the inside.

eh, I hear ya. Everytime I started to draw, all I ever ended up doing was just a character sketch, then threw some lame background in at the last minute in a hurry. I'm trying to break that habit and focusing more on scenery, mostly battle shots. That's one of the key things in my soon-to-come comics, I want to make very epic fights. Hell, whenever i'm not doing anything at home or if i'm driving around, I just play some battle song or something and daydream fight scenes.

Usually when I want to plan out an fight scene, I make a story-board, and then I usually never get around to animating it anyways. For example, I was working on a story-board for an animation, or maybe even just a comic, and I put so much time and too much effort into it...and I never got around to the animating part("Bible Fight" there's an rough drawing of one of the characters in my scraps).
Otherwise I just animate a fight scene while listening to some hardcore techno or something. Idk, whatever, I don't really animate as much as I used to, I draw more now instead.

hhmmmmh....I can't drive yet :q
