Mictecacihuatl is Mic's wife and is said to have the role to watch over the bones of the dead and preside over the festivals for the dead. She was represented with a fleshless body and a jaw agape because she supposedly swallows the stars during the day. I thought I'd combine that with a hint to the modern festival and the well-known face paintings for the Dia de los muertos and gave her this appearance.
I also think that while Mic prefers the spider, she prefers the barn owl as a familiar and transformation choice.
To answer the question a lot of you will surely be thinking now:
Both gods being gods of death and decay, they do not have a relationship based on overly romantic feelings, because they do not live to create, hence have no drive to reproduce or in other words, have sex. In fact, they both are very far removed from anything resembling sexual activities. That's why Mic is very slow in realizing the extent of his feelings, and why his wife is not jealous of Metz. They share a completely asexual, but still caring, marriage.

Wow, she is really beautiful *o* That transition between owl and human form is amazing. I like that idea of not sexual marriage between them, makes sense.

I'm glad you explained their relationship a little. Plus it helps that she won't be trying to to have Metz combust on spot (unlike Greek gods/goddesses).

Really liking the idea of their relationship, it feels refreshing and it shows that yes you can have a very good relationship without having sex and stuff. Also I am loving the designs and how they both, and the other characters too, look! I am still loving this webcomic!

Really like the idea of the asexual relationship, because there's a real myth out there that you can't have a good relationship with out sex and its not true, you can have just a good if not a better relationship without it as you have to talk more. Also it makes sense that the gods of death might not create, frankly though I would be more scared of what they could create if they wanted to create something just for the hell of it. (No pun intended)

Thanks, I'm really glad this rather spontaneous addition to the story in form of Mic's wife is being recepted so well.

Ah, this story is always so unique! Love her like all your characters. I'd like to know how long it took for you to plan this comic?

Thanks!
mmh, the story itself in it's basic core is quite old, stemming from a very different story I made up in parts probably over a decade ago. A few years back i asked my friend who's a writer if he would help me patch it up, work it over and make it into a webcomic that would actually live to see it's own end. it worked out very well and planned most of the story as it stands now. But we kind of had a falling out and I'm not sure where we stand right now, and if he wants to continue working on it or not. I am still waiting for his answer to that question, and am at the moment the only one working on the gaps in the story. Parts of it, like this scene with Mictecacihuatl, I make up as I go along. I'm not sure how the finer details will turn out, as I'm still overthinking some things.
So, to answer your question: It took several years, and is not 100% planned out just yet.

Wow, totally inspirational! I started my own idea for a comic about 2 years ago, and I'm really hoping I'll go through with it.

Even if it doesn't work out, don't give up. I have loads of ideas stacked away somewhere, and I started on quite a few of them with intentions of making them a comic, but it didn't work out until BTOM. Having someone to figure out the parts you're not sure about, throw ideas around or critizise your work helps a lot.
I hope you can realize what you have in mind.

Thank you. I've been working very hard at it; but it's Norse mythology, so I have to be unique.
I'm looking for a co-writer, but I'm not sure I can trust my close friends to fully critique me.

oh, man! I really love her design! she's beautiful!
I really want to know what made you include her, after all?
and now I'm IN TEREST ED in their relationship, too! Their marriage is asexual, okay (and I dig it. ) but is there anything remotely romantic about their relationship? or are they more like platonic life-long companions? (death-long companions?) and does she ship mic and metz (romantic relationship with mic or no)?

I guess platonic life-long companions is a very good description. The rest, you'll just have to wait and see for yourself
