If I may ask, is there anyway to unrig something?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Tehrainbowllama In reply to Overmorrowlyn [2015-08-15 15:03:21 +0000 UTC]

Yes. You can fully weight the part you want "unrigged" from your model onto another bone. (:

Which version are you using? Perhaps it has something to do with the make of the program.

Oh, dear! I have never had this happen to me before. I have no idea of what may be the cause or of how it may be fixed. The only thing I can think of is that it may be the version of .Pmd Editor you are using. If you don't mind me asking, what version are you using this plugin with?Β

I have tried with PMX 0.1.3.7, PMX english version 1.1 (fav.me/d8yr374 ) and PMD Editor 0.1.3.9^^
It worked fine when I put PMX on my usb and used it in my old computer, but in this one doesn't show up...

Nintendraw [2015-05-03 06:05:13 +0000 UTC]

The second button part of the skirt plugin tut confuses me since it ends up displaying a different number of rows than what I inputted. Are you supposed to just ignore that and move the joints that do appear into place? I remember wanting 7 joints per column and hitting that button and getting 4 per column instead, so how do you know what goes where?

(I have a skirt to rig and really don't want to manually do it. Also, I made a retexture and another mod of your Grand Golden Dress, so would it be okay to upload it if I get it rigged?)

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Tehrainbowllama In reply to Nintendraw [2015-05-03 15:35:29 +0000 UTC]

When you are placing the joints on the skirt, the joints are always going to be "4 x 4" when being placed, but as you click the "finished" button, your desired number of joints will show up and will be a more "defined" version of the placement of the joints. It's a little bit of an odd feature of the plugin, but it is to make it less work when you are placing the joints. For instance, if you had a "16 x 16" jointed skirt, it would be quite a lot of work to move each individual joint.

(How wonderful! I'd really love to see what you've done with it. Sadly, I'm not very comfortable with the distribution of single objects that I created myself, modified or not. I'm so sorry about this. However, if you'd like to display pictures of it or distribute it on a finished model of yours, that would be completely a-okay! > w <)

Nintendraw In reply to Tehrainbowllama [2015-05-03 15:49:10 +0000 UTC]

Strange. If I wanted something that's not a multiple of 4 (say, 5 columns or 1 for a ponytail), do I still move them all? In the former case, would I want to position the "4" differently (if the skirt circumference is 20 pi, do I put the joints at every 4 pi as if I had 5 columns), and for the latter case, would I stack all the joints into one column and move that or just move one column?

(Understandable. Thanks for letting me know! [I didn't end up using your skirt on Nyna, but I figured the extra dress would come in handy. The spare is a long sleeved TDA keyhole trumpet/mermaid dress and hers is a long sleeved keyhole pleated high-low.])

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Tehrainbowllama In reply to Nintendraw [2015-05-03 20:21:07 +0000 UTC]

I've never tried that, but I think that you still have to move all of the joints, as arduous as it is. In that case if the circumference is 20 pi, then with the part where you establish the "outline" of the joints, you would move each column at every 5 pi. After you've made the "outline" of the joints with the 4 x 4 joints, you click the "finished button", and then it will automatically set your desired set of joints into place. Think of that part as making a "rough sketch" of a drawing, and then making the final draft once clicking "finish" and establishing your desired joint numbers. For the latter case, I'd say setting one column for the ponytail, and then once clicking finished, and then deleting all of the other columns would probably suffice.

(Thank you so much for understanding! I really, really appreciate it.)

Nintendraw In reply to Tehrainbowllama [2015-05-03 22:14:25 +0000 UTC]

Well, looks like I got the plugin to work... But MAN does my rigging suck. For the time being, I've just rigged the entire skirt to the lower body bone (which sucks because it's a long one).

Btw, do you happen to know how to prevent legs from going through the skirt in motion? Or is that unsolvable with certain (violent) motions?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Tehrainbowllama In reply to Nintendraw [2015-05-03 22:48:28 +0000 UTC]

Well, that's good to hear! I'm happy to hear that you've got it up and working. I completely understand. Mastering the plugin takes a lot of time and practice; it is very difficult to learn. When I first started, I was so horrible with it, I didn't even make the physics move when I tried the plugin.

Oh, goodness! Now that's a struggle that I've been troubled with quite often. With the legs going through, there is no 100% sure-fire, definite way as to stopping it. However, there are some ways as to remedying it, which include:
1) thickening the radius of the leg physics
2) increasing the amount of skirt physics (which makes it more fluid)
3) editing the joint properties in the skirt plugin (second to last tab)

I suck so much 4ss with that plugin that I really don't want to try again for Nyna... Would you be willing to help me out with that, please? She's just about done; all I need to do is rig her skirt and fix her shoulders rigging. You'll be credited, of course, and you'll get to beta-test her too! (I'm not 100% happy with the way her bangs are rigged, but I'm not sure how to fix that XD)

If you're willing to help me out, I'll try "fix" 1 before sending her out; otherwise... uh... XD;
