Description
This is part of an 800x600 interactive animation. You can view it at: [link]
I am hoping to create a bigger and better pixel animation soon.
This is a small part of the pixel town 'The other side of the funfair'. This includes a vertical up down ride a catapult slingy thing and a ferris wheel. You can view the roller coaster (which is on the other side of the funfair) here: [link]
Like I hoped I have finished the funfair ride animations today
The rotation of the ferris wheel isnt smooth but I was trying to keep the frame count low in this preview. Also the logflume isn't animated here since it exceeds 60 frames.

I like this because it's unique. A lot of pixel art can all look the same, but this doesn't! It's great

thanks I notice that with comments. Not yours though. I think most pixel artists use highlights to make stuff appear rounded (habbo vogue) but I went for a more blocky pixelated square look - like old game graphics.

Yeah it's good, and also tricky to do without being dull. But yours is quite eye catching and colourful still it's good work

Impressive!
If I may be so bold, how many frames does this consist of?

iirc I made it short enough to show all frames on the deviantart preview. I honestly can't remember though.

Reminds me or rollercoaster tycoon exept I would see this on NES.
The animation is a bit too slow (( specially on the bouncing balls )

I don't know if the nes could handle that many frames? I don't know though.
I know it's not perfect though. I can and do tweak animation timing a lot throughout the process but it is hard to animate physics realistically. If animation is too fast it is hard to read and too slow and it looks wrong. It probably is a little slow though.

I started a new pixel project but haven't got that far with it yet. It's bigger and more ambitious than the city which is very boring in comparison. The new project is an island in an ocean and I have done the beach area but there is also going to be a mountain area with ski slope, an airport on the coast like I have seen on youtube I have forgot where in the world it is but it is awesome how the planes take off just above all the sunbathers. However, I have started to learn blender as I would like to start 3d modelling again. I was used to 3dsmax but Blender is free and just as powerful it seems and probably ideal for creating assets for an android based game.
Anyway hopefully soon I'm going to get the island all finished and make it into a website much like I had intended for the city. At least an island will be more interesting than a city scape.

Thankyou for the comment. I know it was a while ago but I haven't been properly on dA in a long time. Β Some of my other stuff was supposed to be more mainstream commercial. I've sold a couple prints but not as many as I hoped! I would like to make a large print of pixel art but I have work and a wife now.

it's possible with windows paint. Just zoom right the way in. use the smallest brush and it helps to turn the grid on
