Description My April card for #ATC-Exchange : 's character Crii. This month's theme was the zodiac, and she mentioned his sign is Cancer. Although I have very little love for water signs, I've been itching to draw Crii for a while, so I was very glad to have gotten her this time around.

I was a little iffy on the palette with this one. -__- The shadows looked really awesome when I blocked them in, but then some of the charm got lost when I added the color. I still think it looks okay, though... and I hope you like it anyway, *Adielle , even if I totally had no idea what I was doing with the color.

I can't know what you had in mind (if you had wanted it somewhat different that is) but i find that the colours work beautifully.They give this moonlit atmosphere and i think it works,quite nicely in fact.I like the shadows too.

Thank you! I'm not really worried about it anymore, it grew on me with time. I don't even know exactly what I was going for to begin with, I just know that it didn't feel like I hit it, but now I kind of think I did, in some oblique way.

Aw, thank you! When I was in school I learned that shadows should always be the opposite color from the light. I don't always stick to that strictly, but it does help a lot in giving me ideas at least.

I feel like it might've been better if I'd kept it monochrome blue? Because when I added the blue shadows, it looked REALLY cool. Ah well... next time, next time.

Monochrome is often a good bet in my book. Other shades can sometimes tend to sully things a little...

Well I think this looks really nice, even if you're not sure on the colours, personally I think they turned out great. The blueish shading really adds depth, and the level of detail is fantastic. This really looks quite beautiful.

(However, in future maybe it would be a good idea to scan before AND after adding the colour... just in case? XD and also because it can be cool to look back on the progress..)

Thank you! I'm really glad you think so. I like your idea of the pre-scan, but when I'm working on these I get totally in the zone so "taking a break" doesn't even really occur to me. XD On the plus side, though, I do usually get all the color done in one sitting as a result!

I'm so glad you like the colors. When I finished last night I was really disappointed with them, but they've really grown on me now that a very large amount of people think they look good. Funny how that works...

XDDD Nothing personal! I HAVE known water-sign people I've gotten along with, they're just few and far between. Air sign here, so I don't really get along with many fire OR water people. I tend to gravitate to the company of like-minded air people. XD BUT THANK YOU! You have redeemed your sign's elusive and tempestuous element.

A corset... I wasn't really thinking that, I just didn't have a lot of reference pictures of his back so I kind of had to make it up. But it could be one, if you wish it so!
