OMG GREEN DONOVAN!!! I totally forgot all about him! I was toying with Harper for the monochrome green, but I've already done him, and I have a very long history of neglecting Donovan, who is actually VERY important.

I'm really glad you like this one! I was really fond of how the eyes turned out.

Hrr, I'm WAY late responding to this. But thank you so much! Gray is Zarael's "default" color scheme, so I'm glad you think it fits. The lightning was a LOT of fun to do.

Thank you! It's worth noting that I used to be a total traditional purist, I still do all my lines on paper. One of the coolest things about having switched to mostly digital is that I've gotten much more confident with color and lighting because I'm not using up materials in pursuit of ill-fated experiments, so when I do traditional again, I'm SO much better at it than I would've been if I'd stuck with it straight through.

Very glad you like the sparing color... I've been picturing a drawing similar to this with him for a while, with everything all in gray and the only color being in the eyes. This isn't precisely what I pictured, but I was pleased with it anyway.

Gray is his default color scheme, actually (except when he's being bad... then it's black ). Very glad it works! I love making those eyes stand out, they're so fetching.

ARGH I HAD A WHOLE RESPONSE TO THIS, but my shoddy-as-hell internet connection bottomed out and now I have to re-type it. I didn't find out about Drawing Day until the morning of, so I wouldn't be TOO upset, it kind of seems like it flew under most people's radars.

I'm really glad you like the lightning, because normally I'm dreadful at drawing it. What helped me finally figure it out was the tutorial I used the one time I tried to do the lightning effect digitally (to a nice success). I ended up using the same kinds of lines traditionally, and lo and behold, it worked there too!

Thank you! I'm glad you like the shading, I felt like really pushing the darks this time around. They aren't quite as deep as I wanted, but that's just because of the nature of the watercolor on the bristol paper, and it ended up resembling how I imagined, so yay!
