Description Allllllright! This was coming eventually, and since I missed the actual date where I supposedly have reached 3 years of being on dA and made a semi-late journal, I still wanted to make art for it! Now most of you praise me for how well I can do art and whatnot, and I do appreciate that. But let's not forget that I too am human, and am bound to make mistakes the first time around. Consider this to be proof via a comparison. While I did a small refurbishment to the old picture, I also sorta kept it the same in quality. I just wanted to make sure you saw the details was all.

This is the very first picture to introduce Sunto and Pan. And it was my own intention to draw them as kids first. This way you could get to know them first at the beginning, and that I used to have this old story idea of their first meeting. It was actually about Hercule holding a tournament to honor the Cell Games being he was still hailed hero for that event. *A-hem!* Bulma would hold a small pre-party at Capsule Corp and Sunto (originally named Stephen after you-know-who) and family would be invited. Steve's little Saiyan blood thingy actually came from a sample of Goku transfused into his stream. It was rather flawed in a way, but still something I thought would work. Another certain Videl fanfic inspired me to do that, and while I know some of you may regret me saying that (considering it was made by someone some of you might not like to talk about), I still thought it actually could work, and went with it. Though I will admit, in a very old scheming for Steve's backstory, it used to be him as Fasha/Celipa's child. The replacement story was much less convoluted and different, which I wanted to go for.

Anyway, the pre-tournament party was where Stephen met the Z Fighters and Pan, then the tournament comes, Goku decides to brush off the Kaio-ken and Stephen (who I gave Mimicry as a talent) copied it too. He fights Uub, and though it was close, he manages to move on to the kid-division finals with Pan. Pan almost beats him, but Steve then goes False Super Saiyan, being his Saiyan powers were still sorta fresh, and that I didn't want him to go Goten and immediately unlock the full thing without good reason. The tournament finals comes to a draw as Pan, slightly afraid of the change causes Steve to give up, feeling uncomfortable with the current flow of battle. His dad and Gohan then agree to let him stay with them so that he may be trained properly, he learns to fly, energy control, blah blah blah.

He eventually goes back to living with his family in America (yes, because I was foolish to believe that the English Dub of Super Android 13 actually proved Dragon Ball could relate to our world's geography), GT happens where he manages to send Pan the pills which expelled Baby's "eggs" within some of the people on New Planet Tuffle before being taken over by the parasite. Kurivasios was also a thing at the time, but originally started out for another AU story relating to Planet Vegeta. I then thought he was too good to just bring up for one single story, so I integrated him and elemental powers that totally copied off of Avatar: The Last Airbender and Naruto's jinchūriki thing. He didn't have anything too important regarding the Super 17 Saga, he simply helped defend any rouge Hell villains that managed to come to his home area. But then I chose to give him an important role in the Shadow Dragon Saga, where he fights Syn Shenron before Goku and Pan would meet him, because one of the important things I held towards his development was making sure he could fit into canon without turning him into an insert-type sort of things, it was just how I wanted it to be, really. He manages to come close to defeating the Shenron, but his wasting energy just to be serious and assure victory (a TV Trope otherwise known as Heroic Red Ring of Death) cost him the match and his life. He does get brought back thanks to the final wish.

That's pretty much the old basic story before I found some of you guys, got my act together and became more serious to planning things out. The first major change was the name, from Stephen to Sunto. Eventually I had MalikStudios help me flesh out some of the flaws in "commonly known Sunto's" rise to Saiyan genes from Goku blood transfusion, to Saiyan blood mystical infusion, and the change in the Elemental Arts I now refer to as Ba Xing Do. Some much has been done, and there's still plenty to do. So this is my thank you to all who supported me, who supported Sunto, and those who supported the ship back then. I'm surprised my idea still seemed cute, made sense somehow, and was overall likable. But now, it makes even more sense, and I have better drawing and anatomy skills to back it up. Come to think of it, it's almost like how One Punch Man came from webcomic to official manga, to popular Madhouse Entertainment anime. And soon, my own original series will be in the making. So enjoy this history, and be prepared. Next time, I will finally explain how the SuntoxPan relationship officially comes to be.
