Ascending from a normal unicorn, to a full fledged princess alicorn, Twilight Sparkle now takes on the role as Princess of Friendship. With this new found power, She goes across the land of Equestria spreading the magic that is friendship along with her best friends; Rainbow Dash, Fluttershy, Rarity, Pinkie Pie, and Applejack. For many years, they played there roles, into making the land a better place to live. . .
It has been a few 100 years now. Twilight continues spreading the magic, making new friends along the way. New memories. New bonds. New everything. However, nothing can replace what is kept close to her. As she continues to live, so do her friends. Even though they are no longer with her. To walk with her. Talk with her. Laugh with her. They will always remain Twi’s best friends. She will never forget how they helped her see how magical having friends could be. Even after all these years, she still remembers the lessons they have taught her, the time they have spent together, and the joy that has been brought by them. . .
Never forgotten. . .

'Tis a sad thing for any sentient creature to be immortal, for it means that they will eventually be the last one left in any group. I wonder how Celestia has coped with watching her friends age and die.
Like in the micro comic featuring Celestia: she remembers when a young mare named Inkwell fought alongside her during an enemy siege against Canterlot. In present day, Inkwell is now an elderly professor at the Canterlot Academy of Magic, and is about to be kicked from her position be the education committee. Celestia appears to be rather stressed out by the situation. She does not want Inkwell to be fired. Essentially, it seems as though Celestia does not want things to change, even though immortality gives her no choice. She may have given Inkwell a few more years to teach, but she knows very well that Inkwell is nearing the end of her life, which is something she cannot change.
Now that Twilight is immortal, how will she cope? Has she yet to realize that she will long survive her friends? Life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness is something all sentient creature should possess: the right to live, the right to die, and the right to love and be loved. With immortality, her right to die (a normal death), her liberty, is taken away.

What i dont get is if Twilight is carying the girls souls around in her neck piece or not? Or their impresions on the elements were so strong, that when the last passed on, their bond trnsended the veil of death so they could always be close, so the elements merged together into Twilight's neck piece, so they could talk through it.

I just made the neck piece as if it just had colored gems of each of her friends. As decoration, and as like a little way of keeping memories, just by looking at it here and there.

You know what I love about this pic? Despite it's using the dried up concept off "Twilight is immortal yo!' it instead shows that despite her friends passing away, she still remembers the happy times and carries on their torches and their goal to spread friendship across the land. While usually with this concept all we get is Twilight becoming super emo, that she might as well cry rivers of blood and play "Craaawling in maaa skiiin!" 24/7 (well that or they make Celestia evil/Twilight wanting to kill herself)
