Ascending from a normal unicorn, to a full fledged princess alicorn, Twilight Sparkle now takes on the role as Princess of Friendship. With this new found power, She goes across the land of Equestria spreading the magic that is friendship along with her best friends; Rainbow Dash, Fluttershy, Rarity, Pinkie Pie, and Applejack. For many years, they played there roles, into making the land a better place to live. . .
It has been a few 100 years now. Twilight continues spreading the magic, making new friends along the way. New memories. New bonds. New everything. However, nothing can replace what is kept close to her. As she continues to live, so do her friends. Even though they are no longer with her. To walk with her. Talk with her. Laugh with her. They will always remain Twi’s best friends. She will never forget how they helped her see how magical having friends could be. Even after all these years, she still remembers the lessons they have taught her, the time they have spent together, and the joy that has been brought by them. . .
Never forgotten. . .

That's a good point and your most certainly right but they said she won't outlive her friends. That could be a misleading answer, it might even mean that Twilight won't be the only one who becomes an alicorn, the other point to consider is that MLP has given half truths before and its always been done for the desired effect of misdirection. We don't know what the creators might have in mind and with season 5 about to start, there could be another plot twist and season 5 in most series is a big number. I wouldn't be surprised if there was a big decision made, a death or something I can't imagine. Still if Twilight was immortal that would make the series pretty boring.
