Her friends had laughed when she said she could live off nothing but the bounty of the land. They said that she'd "better not try something like that" until she was more experienced; for although Flora loved the wilderness, she seldom strayed from the beaten path, or the woods immediately behind her home. But she'd show them! But she couldn't show them...Where was she? She didn't remember seeing this marsh before. And the wind rustled the cattails to the shrill cries of theΒ katydids."I...I'm lost..."
I had to pour a lot of feeling into this picture.
