Description
I made this comic to show a strange observation (and because this theme is very personal to me...and I guess to some of you, too).Characters like the ones mentioned in this comic are extremely loved in the fandom while real people like that aren't. They often even have their lives made hell by fellow humans. Because, as sad as it is, society hates the ones who are different. They are picked on and become social outcasts.
I think, especially L is a typical example, since he shows signs of the asperger's syndrome. (Those who know what that is will know what I’m talking about…)
I guess, this is because in fiction, people get to know the characters from the inside and learn to appreciate them 'as a whole' but in real life, people often see only the outer side and label them as 'strange', 'freaks', etc.
Btw, the guys in panel 5 are supposed to be (young) Snape's and L's 'real life equivalents'.
And the shallow and hypocritical behaviour of the bitches girls in this comic is meant to represent the 'offending side' (I know it’s still very harmless here compared to what often happens IRL.)

L never struck me much as Asperger's (being an Aspie myself) but more a slightly stronger variety of Autism. Though it would explain his obsession, which I can relate to. Though his insane mind that is similar to Light's... can't really say that has something to do with Asperger's (though if it was, it would explain, since I can follow Light's train of thoughts pretty well)
And yes, it's most likely because we get to see the personality behind the... strange... exterior. Which is pretty neat, though it would be cool for it to happen in real life, too. Maybe because the socially awkward people tend to have problems expressing themselves well, so it makes it more difficult and take more time to see what's behind the appearance.

I definitely see exactly what you are saying with this(a very serious message too), and find the comic funny in-and-of-itself. Although in all fairness, those guys have neither magical powers or an artifact of death shaped like a book.

I've noticed that about a few characters that remind me of myself.
It surprises me because I usually love those characters because they ARE nerds. Though most intelligent guys are either too shy to notice that they are smart or completely full of themselves. I need to develop nerd radar.

This is so true these girls just want the looks even though another argument can be that that's nontrivial what the series is about but I understand shows like free to be fangirld because it's not deep it plain out fan service and the fangirls what their supposed to do that is made strictly for them

Ah that is so true ;3;' I have been labelled as a weirdo pretty often since early years, so I became rather shy towards people in real, in the closest environment, but I always try to give others chance and never judge anyone. I think that's all I can do to be a good person, I think that's what it is about more or less.
It's a really good thing that You touched this topic, showed it in such a way, You surely deserve respect for that! You've done good job!
