I found inspiration for this picture in Red's song "Break Me Down". It fits Terra perfectly, with his struggle to reclaim himself from Lord Xenhort's corruption. A corruption that produces a false identity for him (Terranort) and, when his physical body is sacrificed, a Heartless (Ansem) and a Nobody (Xemnas). Aqua, his comrade, is ultimately unable to save him from the evil that engulfs him.
As always, comments are welcome and appreciated.
The picture took me 3 hours to ink and 4 days to colour.

Wow this is brilliant, it shows you so many things; like Terra and Aqua on either side followed by their transformations (especially Terra's ^_^) I like how Xemnas is in the middle, it really shows how he is 'betwixt and between'.
If I could ask, what type of software did you use to colour this? Is it computer related?

Many thanks for the kind comment. ^^ Transformation is a big theme in BBS. Terra undergoes such radical changes and I'm very curious what kind of final ending Square Enix will give him. Some suspect that a big part of him remains in Xemnas.
As with all my other work, I ink the lines by hand, scan them and add colour/effects in Corel PaintShop PhotoPro X3 (computer software).

Ahaha that's no problem at all ^_^ I completely agree, transformation, and almost progression, is a big topic in BBS, and all of KH for that matter. I do feel bad for terra being locked inside the xehanort reincarnated, and I'm sure that Nomura will pull through in the end
I have to say that if nobodies WERE able to feel emotions, Xemnas would act a great deal like Terra.
Ah right, I'm having a look at software to better present my art, but I have no idea on the price range. would it be possible for you to send me a note detailling some prices that I might expect?

We can only hope that Nomura will end the series well. Although, technically, I don't think the Kingdom Hearts will ever end.
I'm actually not too familiar with the Kingdom Hearts universe but this is what I've also heard.

I'm not sure, but I think it's that cutscene where Master Xenhort possesses Terra right before (or just after) he chokes Aqua. The only difference is that I made him Terra, whereas he was Terranhort (dark skin and silver hair) in the original version.
Some tips:
-use references
I do this everytime I'm unsure of how to draw something. In the past, if I couldn't draw something I'd trace over it to get a feel for the dimensions and curvature/linearity and then go back and draw it myself after. Anatomy takes some getting used to.
-clothes
You need to pay careful attention to where the creases go. There are always more creases where the cloth folds (e.g. area on the underside of a bent knee). Consequently, there are less creases on the opposite side of the fold where the cloth stretches (e.g. top side of a bent kneee).

Thanks! this is gonna help a lot! i find that muscle shirts suck to draw... i can't seem to find a good pic of terra to draw... if you are not too busy could u reccomend a traceable pic for practice? anything would help!!! thanks for considering this!

I'd start off with one of Terra's standard poses, something like: [link] . That's good practice for the arm. You might also consider: [link] for the body. The angle isn't that great but I'm having trouble finding a better shot.
