Doing an art trade over on Y!Gallery with friend and fantastic artistShe requested Javert/Valjean from Les Miserables, which incidentally is one of my all time favorite books. She wanted the movie version staring Rush and Neeson, both whom are incredible.
I've only had practice drawing Rush as Barbossa (and usually a very young Barbossa) and have never tried to draw Liam before, so I think for a first try it's pretty decent. I was so excited to draw these two as a pairing, thanks so much for the awesome request!
I'll probably do more, just for the hell of it. XD
Side note! When I was collect reference photos of the characters, I noticed how much TALLER Liam is than Geoffery. That got me to thinking how much taller Rush is to Depp...holy crap, if Johnny's ever in a movie with Liam Neeson I will laugh my ass off at the dramatic height difference. LOL

But V/J is absolutely adorable. One of my all-time-favourite pairings.

I think Javert must be around 6 french feet tall, which was really a lot for that period. Your average Frenchman was 1,65m tall at that time, so a guy taller than 1,80m... uncommon and impressive. One of Louis-Philippe's prime ministers (incidentaly, the one who died right before the barricades days in June 1832) was 1,86m and used that fact to "tame" some of his opponants.

This is so... weirdly right. Ever since Roonz first posted that pic on Y!gallery, I always held this pairing in an odd reverence.
