Description
The Cotdua System is a star system located within a developed region of Federation space. It is a small, five-planet system with no asteroid belts. Its fourth planet, a world 174 percent the size of Earth and with 164 percent Earth's gravity, is a water-covered, greenly-verdant planet; jungles cover its land, home to a thriving indigenous biosphere. Seven isolated continental masses constitute what little land surface exists.

Cotdua IV's aborigines consist of four competing species of sapient stone tool-users; two are mammalian and only separated by 30-40 million years, while the other two are reptilian and the other vaguely avianoid. The Cotdua IV aborigines have had limited contact from the outside universe; the most frequent visits to their world being by scientists studying their culture and making detailed surveys of Cotdua IV's native biota.

Several large space stations and platforms orbit Cotdua V, dedicated to monitoring and supplying picket fleets, maintaining an exclusion zone around the Cotdua System to protect the Cotdua IV aborigines from external interference.
