Description
This was announced while I was in Seattle for the Emerald City Comicon last Friday - it's the cover of Avenging Spider-Man #9 featuring Spidey and the new Captain Marvel.This is the Work in Progress Colors as these were extremely last second - on the whole it works fine but it's a lot of refining.
Oh yeah, I'm drawing the interiors of this 2 parter as well as the covers, written by Kelly Sue DeConnick.
The book ships in July 2012.
Colored in Photoshop CS3 over original lineart penciled by me and inked by Rachel Dodson.

I hate the new costume, but I love your rendition of it in this picture. This is seriously the ONLY flattering image I've seen of her in it, which is a testament to your strengths as an artist.
... I still can't help but think she now looks like Captain Planet, though. It's literally like the exact same outfit, and she's even got the mullet-thing going in other pictures.

Love it, love the fact that Spider-Man is the "damsel" in distress and being saved by the former Ms. Marvel now Captain Marvel. Great job!

This has quickly become one of my favourite superhero images ever.

I like the concept, but without motion lines showing the bullets hitting her it doesn't look like she's being shot at. It looks like giant zits are popping all over her body.
Other than that it looks great.

Honestly, the ONLY rendition of this costume (and the new costume is bad bad bad) that I have liked... which is more a testament to your skill than anything.
Any news on what else you'll be working on, now that you're moving off of Defenders?

After Defenders #7 and the covers to #8 and #9, in June AvX VS #3, and after that - Avenging Spider-Man #9 and #10 in July and August and that's plenty for now!
