Description
The first of my requests, I was asked by to simply draw my favourite animal.This is why it took so long as I couldn't really decide for quite some time but in the end I went for turtles (over koala bears and monkeys which were favourites of mine as a child due to the toys I used to have).
However I strayed from simply doing a black & white life drawing and decided to merge the turtle theme with another favourite of mine (Pokemon) to appeal to my interest in character design and general fantasy, which has resulted in this grouping of all the current turtle Pokemon in the four sets of Pokemon games to date.
I don't know if this qualifies as a successful request as I result but I hope Roz' will accept it as having successfully met her criteria vague as it was seeing as I've gotten a character pic from her using the request feature going around.
From left to right, up to down are Blastoise, Torterra, Grotle, Torkoal, Wartortle, Squirtle and Turtwig.

I realise Gen 5 isn't included but unlike my current projects I didn't draw each Pokemon separately and I'm not sure where the original file is anyway so I can't update this one (and I personally don't consider Shuckle to be a true turtle since it's a Bug-type).

No Pokedex I know has ever implied Shuckle to be a turtle, sorry.

I think theres another turtle pokemon out in black/white but its a fossil - think its the 'shell' fossil... need to check... but anyways, very good picture, and i chose squirtle as my starter in blue!

I'm aware of the new turtle Pokemon (you're right in that it's of the fossilised variety) but hadn't even considered adding it here but considering I no longer have the Photoshop file available it wouldn't be easy to incorporate any changes and I had no intention of doing so I'm afraid.
However I am hoping to someday draw all current Pokemon and I am very much working newer Pokemon into the project so I can always draw Purotooga and Abagoora as they're currently known as separate images and start a new collage once I've drawn all the turtle Pokemon again.

What do you mean by that, if it's a request for me to draw a Pokemon I've got a set order on when I'll be releasing the individual pics (do you have a favourite one in particular?)

Nah, it's this one thing that appeared on the news about a year back.
It was Halloween and this anchor lady was interviewing a boy wearing a zombie outfit. She asked him something and he replied (somewhat randomly) "I LIKE TURTLES." For some reason it has become a meme...

You might have heard this before, but where are shuckle and golem?
I guess shuckle isn't technically based on a turtle, but I dunno, I think golem should be here.

Shuckle I considered but at the end of the day being a Bug-type suggests it's not a turtle, Golem's a new suggestion but I wanted all stages of each Pokemon and this drawing has long been completed I'm afraid.

I'm afraid this was a one-off project and I'm not doing any more themed groupings any time soon, however I am aiming to draw every Pokemon on their own and eventually be able to arrange themed collages.

As I've already said, I researched Shuckle but didn't find enough evidence to suggest it counts as a turtle Pokemon rather than a Pokemon with a large shell, I prefer the layout of Fire, Grass and Water turtles as it is anyway.

I get a little peeved when people comment with "you've missed so-and-so" and don't actually say anything about the picture. -_- This happens to me with my PokΓ©mon Legends pic, even though I clearly link to the Sinnoh pic in my description.
