Rockettes - Universe Quick Guide
From Left to Right: Clever Fox, Sexy Fox, Liberty Star, Majorette, Lady Crimson
Who are the Rockettes??
The Rockettes are a team of five super heroic women who have been blessed with incredible strength and magical powers. Each member of the team has her own unique skills and powers that she brings to the table, and while incredibly formidable on their own, when present as their full team, they are a nigh unstoppable force for good. You can read more about each heroic lady below in the brief biography section that gives a basic outline for their skills and abilities. Each of the Rockettes has an arsenal of physical and magical powers at their disposal and are also aided by the gadget packed utility belts they each wear around their waists. The belts contain many powerful gadgets that have been created by Tiffany Johnson and Dorothy Morgan, the two combining their science and engineering backgrounds, as well as their knowledge of magic to create gear that aids them in their battle against evil.
Steel City - United States:
All of the Rockette's adventures take place in the modern day utopia of Steel City, a city where tech and magic blend together to create a mostly peaceful society. The city is one of the world's most technologically advanced city's, which has made it an attractive place for both aspiring men and women, as well as would-be super criminals who wish to get their evil hands on the technological marvels the city possesses.
Background Lore:
Tiffany Johnson was once known as the mighty super heroine Crimson Valkyrie, but her greatest enemies, led by her nemesis Doctor Kotetsu, conspired against her and lured her into a trap. Mortally wounded and cast through a space time vortex to spend the rest of eternity in limbo, she was rescued and retrieved by the Asgardian goddess Freyja, who revealed her ancient Valkyrie heritage and granted her amazing powers, both physical and magic based. Unable to return to her own realm, Freyja dispatched Tiffany to Steel City, charging her with guarding over four magical gems of great power. Donning a new costume, Tiffany took to the streets as the powerful heroine Lady Crimson, helping to ward off threats to the futuristic city and the world. All the while she searched for four others who could prove worthy of wielding the power of the gems she had been given. Through many adventures, Tiffany eventually found those four other heroic and brave hearted ladies, while at the same time finding the love she thought she would never get to enjoy. Read on to find out who those other heroic women are!
The Rockettes:
Name: Tiffany Johnson
Rockette Callsign: Lady Crimson
Age: 28
Hair: Red
Eyes: Green
Height: 5'-10"
Build: Slender/Athletic
Powers: Flight(Up to 300 mph), Enhanced Reflexes(Can catch a bullet out of the air, etc.), Enhanced Strength (10 tons), Magical Energy Manipulation (Energy Blasts, Magic Melee Fists, etc.), Enhanced Healing
Traits: Leadership, Brave, Noble, Generous, Stubborn, Advanced Intelligence (one of the most brilliant people on the face of the planet)
Background: By day, Tiffany Johnson heads up the bio-medical department at Steel City University. She is an accomplished scientist and has made many breakthroughs in medical technology, including the use of nano-technology to aid in the healing of patients with all kinds of injuries and diseases. By night and whenever the situation calls for it, she is the heroine Lady Crimson, using her incredible powers to keep evil at bay while she watches over Steel City and searches for four other worthy women to wield the magical power gems Freyja bestowed upon her. While brushing up on some experiment data at a local jazz bar and coffee shop, Tiffany met Dorothy Morgan, a young grad student who was brilliant beyond her years. Her background in engineering allowed her and Tiffany to become fast friends and the two would often meet in the evenings to "talk shop" and enjoy one another's company. Eventually they struck up a romance, though they kept it hidden the best they could, not wanting to draw the ire of the SCU Board, who frowned upon faculty/student relationships. Despite this the two enjoyed a blossoming romance and were inseparable, despite their age difference. One night they decided to go out for a romantic dinner, and on that night Dorothy planned on telling Tiffany she loved her for the first time. Tragedy struck though when the two were accosted by a gun wielding mugger, and when Dorothy heroically shielded Tiffany and tried to take on the gunman, she was shot twice in the stomach. The gunman fled in fear when he realized he had most likely killed the young blonde, and Tiffany was heartbroken as her lover lay bleeding to death in her arms, her stomach wounds mortal. Refusing to give up on the love of her life, Tiffany confessed that she loved Dorothy and swiftly transformed into Lady Crimson. She whisked her love away to her secret lab facility and used a combination of nano-technology and her own magical powers to save the young blonde's life. Sensing her brave heart and noble intentions, in addition to her undying love for Tiffany, one of the magical gems chose Dorothy while she slept off the ordeal, bonding with her body and giving her incredible powers, which allowed her to become the heroine Majorette. Tiffany was now no longer alone, and she and Majorette teamed up to put a major dent in the crime rate of Steel City, while they continued to search for their future teammates. The pair were dubbed the "Rockettes" by the local media, a title they decided to use for their team name going forward.
Name: Dorothy "Dot/Dottie" Morgan
Rockette Callsign: Majorette
Age: 21
Hair: Brown/Blonde as Majorette
Eyes: Blue
Height: 5'-10"
Build: Lean/Athletic
Powers: Flight(Up to 450 mph), Strength (20 tons), Enhanced Durability (Nearly Indestructible), Enhanced Healing, Magical Electricity Manipulation
Weapon: Majorette carries a two piece weaponized baton that she can use as either two shorter blunt weapons or as a combined fighting staff. The staff can be charged with magical electrical energy and she can throw it like a spear and summon it back to herself after it strikes down her opponent.
Traits: Kind Hearted, Youthful, Brave, Noble, Naive (at times due to her age), Brilliant, Intense, Motivated
Background: Dorothy Morgan, who also goes by the nick names "Dottie" and "Dot," was just a brilliant engineering graduate student at SCU when she met Tiffany Johnson and fell head over heels in love with her, despite the two being student and faculty at the same college. After she gained her powers as Majorette, Dottie jumped fully into her role as a protector and guardian of Steel City. She and Tiffany became a formidable crime fighting team that soon had all but the toughest super criminals on the run from Steel City. Since she bonded fully with her power gem and also received a heavy dose of Tiffany's own magical aura when she was saved, Dorothy is the physically strongest member of the Rockettes. She is the team's guardian and "tank" and has the endurance and strength to outlast any foe she faces. While Tiffany is a bit faster and prefers a more refined fighting style as Lady Crimson, Dottie enjoys letting her fists do the talking and is an incredible brawler, with her only weakness being that her youthful exuberance and naivety sometimes leads her into making misjudging situations. Thankfully her durability and positive and playful outlook no matter the odds help her weather those situations. She can be a bit of a smart ass and enjoys teasing and taunting her enemies into making careless mistakes. When not fighting crime and magical enemies alongside Lady Crimson, Dottie enjoys studying, hitting the gym hard, training with Tiffany, and working on her custom built BMW R100 motorcycle. One of her favorite things to do is to take Tiffany on nighttime rides on the outskirts of Steel City, where a strategically placed scenic overlook makes for the perfect spot for a little late night romance. Dottie and Tiffany also volunteer on the weekends with the Salvation Army, in addition to a few local orphanages, enjoying spreading their love and happiness to the less fortunate.
Name: Christy Adams
Rockette Callsign: Liberty Star
Age: 22
Hair: Blonde
Eyes: Blue
Height: 5'-5"
Build: Slender/Athletic
Powers: Flight (Up to 250 mph), Strength (15 tons), Enhanced Reflexes, Enhanced Healing, Magical Fire Manipulation
Traits: Youthful, Honorable, Naive (Due to her age/combat inexperience), Selfless, Loving, Noble, Flirtatious, Smart
Background: Christy Adams works as a barista at a local coffee shop and jazz bar, while also attending SCU with plans of majoring in veterinary sciences. Blessed with super strength and durability at birth, Christy dons a mask and costume at night and fights crime in Steel City as the super heroine Liberty Star. Through her initial adventures and progress as a heroine, she met Lady Crimson, who took her under her wing and mentored her, while also treating her as an equal. Tiffany could sense Christy's inner strength even in her civilian identity and it was no surprise when one of her magical power gems chose the young blonde to become the third Rockette. Despite her initial shock at the offer, Christy accepted and her power gem began to bond with her, giving her slight boosts to her strength and speed while also bestowing the ability to manipulate magical fire upon her. She can use this ability to fire blast waves or pinpoint laser beam attacks made from a sizzling magical energy that is powerful enough to melt holes in the hull of an aircraft carrier. Despite being the shortest heroine on the team, Christy more than makes up for it with her toughness and determination, serving as the team's secondary "tank" and ranged support. She is the second strongest physically behind Majorette, and she and "Dottie" have a fun little sisterly rivalry, mostly from Dorothy always pushing Christy to be her best, both in costume and in the classroom. With the addition of a third member, the Rockettes became an even more formidable fighting force and were able to reach a much larger area of the city in their efforts. Having Liberty Star on the team also meant that Tiffany and Dottie could step back and relax on some nights, allowing the young heroine to take on more challenges and gain even more experience. During one of these solo adventures, Christy ran across the Midnight Foxes, a world class catburglar duo who specialized in pilfering magical artifacts and jewelry from local museums and antique shops. Though she stopped them initially, the clever Foxes sprung a trap on the young heroine, but in surprising fashion treated her to a rather steamy and romantic night, leaving her breathless and excited as they promised to see her soon. Their relationship became even more interesting later as the Foxes accepted their destiny and left their dashing lives as lady thieves to become the final two members of the Rockettes. When Christy isn't punching evil in the face, she enjoys relaxing on the couch watching sci-fi while scarfing down movie butter flavor popcorn. She often organizes fun movie and gaming nights for the ladies and keeps a section of the coffee shop closed off so that the team can meet and relax together there while she is at work. She volunteers at the local animal shelter and has her own pet cat named Handsome Jack.
Name: Regina Monroe
Rockette Callsign: Clever Fox
Age: 27
Hair: Chestnut Brown
Eyes: Brown
Height: 5'-7"
Build: Gymnast
Powers: Enhanced Agility and Leaping (6' Vertical Leap), Olympic Level Gymnast, World Class Martial Artist, Enhanced Strength (5 tons), Artificer, Enhanced Healing and Durability, Hard-light Magic Manipulation
Traits: Mischievous, Clever, Intelligent, Noble, Headstrong, Focused, Seductive, Street Wise
Name: Faith Caldwell
Rockette Callsign: Sexy Fox
Age: 26
Hair: Platinum Blonde
Eyes: Light Blue
Height: 5'-6"
Build: Gymnast
Powers: Enhanced Agility and Leaping (6' Vertical Leap), Olympic Level Gymnast, World Class Martial Artist, Alchemist, Enhanced Strength (5 tons), Enhanced Healing and Durability, Magical Force-field Manipulation
Traits: Mischievous, Clever, Seductive, Ditzy (Often to lure her foes into false sense of security, other times she can just be silly), Flirtatious, Noble
Background: Formerly known as the Midnight Foxes, there was a time when Regina and her partner Faith served as mischievous foils to Lady Crimson, Majorette, and Liberty Star. The Foxes and Lady Crimson often clashed upon the heroine's arrival in Steel City, though their encounters proved to be quite even and sometimes even took a turn toward being spontaneously romantic. While the Foxes lacked super powers, they more than made up for it with their crafty and clever fighting style, in addition to their world class gymnastic and martial arts skills. They also had their own array of gadgets, including magical artifacts and special pheromone sprays and perfumes that sometimes allowed them to get the upper hand on the lovely Lady Crimson. This mostly changed once Majorette entered the picture, as the Foxes still enjoyed being mischievous and playful, but at the same time they greatly respected Lady Crimson and Majorette's romantic relationship. The addition of a second magical heroine to Steel City's heroic ranks drove the Foxes to become avid learners when ti came to researching their opponents, and their greatest achievement was a set of special magical gems that could temporarily drain the magical energy from an individual. The gems proved even capable of stopping Majorette and Lady Crimson in their tracks, though the Foxes treated their weakened opponents with the utmost care when they had the upper hand, often leaving them in teasing predicaments while they made their escape, only for the heroines to catch up to them later and relieve them of whatever stolen object they had procured. It was a fun game of cat and mouse that only became more intense when Liberty Star arrived on the scene. The young heroine was a bit more flirtatious and playful with the Foxes when she encountered them, which led to them ofttimes abandoning their loot in favor of enjoying a romantic evening with the young Rockette. Despite being thieves, the Foxes were quite noble in their endeavors and stuck to a code, where they only robbed from the rich and corrupt, in addition to the city's criminal gangs. Many times the proceeds of their loot wound up being very large and anonymous donations to local charities, and the local authorities as well as the city's heroes were ofttimes the beneficiaries of information provided by the Foxes, allowing them to bring down many of the city's most powerful gangs and crime syndicates. Fate would eventually conspire against the Midnight Foxes when the evil Natasha Amelinda made a move to grasp at a powerful dark magic artifact being stored at the Steel City Museum of Natural History. When the Foxes arrived to steal the artifact, they instead found the Rockettes and Natasha engaged in a pitched battle. The evil corporate mogul and dark sorceress had somehow managed to tap into the artifact and gained an incredible boost to her magic and tech based powers, allowing her to wound and knock around the Rockettes as she quickly gained the upper hand. The Foxes decided they couldn't just watch and let the Rockettes be destroyed, and quickly joined the battle, helping their heroine friends turn the tide and defeat the evil sorceress. In the aftermath of the epic battle, the remaining two power gems chose the Foxes and their destiny was forever changed as they set aside their "Robin Hood" lifestyle to become super heroes alongside Lady Crimson, Majorette, and Liberty Star. When Faith and Regina aren't assisting their new teammates, they work as mundane and mild mannered CPAs at their own accounting firm, while also serving the community. Regina works at a soup kitchen during the weekends and Faith teaches a free yoga class at the community center. They also enjoy visiting the local orphanages and reading to children, in addition to handing out toys. Though they are still bonding with their power gems, they have both gained incredible new abilities as Rockettes, with Faith gaining the ability to create and manipulate magical force-fields to keep her teammates safe, while Regina can summon small magical hard light knives and tools from her hands to aid her in combat. They often serve as the team's recon and stealth experts and can get into places many others would find impossible to enter.
Costumes:
The "Rockettes" all have a very similar base costume that they wear, which serves as a team uniform and gives them a sense of unity. It mainly consists of a black skirt and a double breasted high collared coat/tunic, along with a utility belt worn around the waistband of the skirt. While the base outfit is largely the same for each lady, they are all free to choose their different accent colors and costume accessories. Faith and Tiffany both wear fishnet stockings with their uniforms, while Regina and Dorothy have short sleeved tops. Christy has more armored shoulder pads with little star logos on them. All of their uniforms have an 8 point star logo emblazoned on the chest, with the exception of Majorette's, which has a lightning bolt style logo that runs from her left shoulder to her right hip. Being the first chosen Rockette, in addition to receiving her powers directly from Tiffany's sacrifice, while also having a super powered lightning wielding cousin in her family tree, granted her the special logo on her costume. Dorothy is also the only Rockette who does not wear a mask while in costume, given that her hair color changes from brown to a brilliant blonde and is often worn in a very stylish manner with her uniform. The ladies also have varying styles of gloves and boots that they wear with their uniforms, though their utility belts are a uniform style, only changing in color to better accent their individual costume. Undergarments are also at the discretion of each individual Rockette, with Regina and Faith wearing normal underwear, while Dorothy dons a yellow gymnast's leotard under her uniform. Tiffany favors a more formal approach, wearing a perfectly tailored black silk dress shirt with a stylish red silk necktie, giving her the look of an old noir style heroine, while Christy is the most flamboyant of the group and only wears a pink thong under her uniform. The Rockette's uniforms are all made from a magical armor and they can dismiss and summon their costumes at will. The material has the consistency of leather and is incredibly lightweight, flowing with the wearer's movements. It is also incredibly durable and can hold up to heavy weaponry and explosives, in addition to conventional firearms and bladed weapons. The uniform's only vulnerabilities are to magical, alien, and hi-tech weaponry.
Main Villains:
There are a variety of criminals and villains that plague Steel City, but the following are the most formidable!
Natasha Amelinda:
The German scientist is a master of technology and a ruthless commander of the board room. Her company Data Max Industries rules the tech landscape of Steel City with an iron fist, often hiding black market dealings behind more benevolent endeavors. Natasha herself is blessed with enhanced strength and reflexes, the result of her father's genetic tampering while she was still in the womb. After she graduated from college, her parents suffered a mysterious death, leaving her in control of her family's fortune and corporate empire. While her father had wanted to further the human race through science and technology, Natasha saw it more as a tool for her to wield to gain absolute power. Her quest for power eventually drove her to the discovery of ancient magical texts and a dark entity in the depths of an alien tomb, an entity that remains in the shadows, but employs Natasha as its harbinger of destruction on Earth. Through the entity, Natasha gained access to dark sorcery and magic, putting her square in the sites of the Rockettes. She is their primary nemesis and wields incredible magical powers that rival the heroine's own. Her thirst for power grows by the day and is only rivaled by her desire to destroy the heroic women who would dare stand in her way.
Cassandra Duco/Candra (Alien Name):
A powerful alien from a race called the Inari, Cassandra Duco became stranded on Earth when her scout ship was struck by a small meteorite while she was scouting Earth for a possible invasion by the Inari Empire. Her own technology dwarfs that of Earth, though this became a spot of good luck for the planet given that she could not find adequate parts to repair her communications array, thus leaving her stranded there. Rather than sit around and wait for the Inari to come looking for her, she studied the Earth in great detail and found it to be incredibly "primitive" when compared with the planets that were part of the Inari empire. She took on the name Injustice and used her incredible physical strength and her powerful mind to take over a local crime syndicate, which soon became known as the Technomancers for the powerful advanced alien weaponry they would come to wield. While still organizing her power base, Injustice dreams of one day conquering the entire planet, even if she has to do it on her own. Her alien technology and incredible super powers make her a dangerous foe for any that would cross her, and she has set her sites on either destroying the Rockettes, or enslaving them to her whims and desires.
Cassandra Elizabeth Bennett/Potentia:
Cassandra Elizabeth Bennett is the long disowned cousin of Steel City's heroine Mindy Marvel, her jealousy toward her cousin leading her to seek out a dark magical entity that granted her incredible dark powers. She can wield shadowy magical energy, even using it to form a massive scythe which she can use to cleave the very soul from someone's body if she so wishes. She is faster and stronger than even Majorette, and uses fear to drive her opponents to their knees, cursing them with the fate of having to relive their greatest fear over and over again until they lose their minds. She is infatuated with power and seeks to destroy any who would oppose her, often clashing with Injustice for the eventual right to rule the Earth. Both she and Injustice share the distinction of being the Rockette's most powerful individual foe, with the team often needing all five members present to oppose either of them given their indomitable physical strength and power.
Marauder:
Marauder is a mysterious tech wielding villain that lacks any type of super powers or magical abilities. He makes up for this with his amazing suit of obsidian black power armor, which has many onboard weapons and defensive systems that make him a formidable foe in battle. His power armor allows him to fly and offers him a degree of superhuman durability as long as it has enough power to maintain its kinetic shields. He is a brilliant inventor and has an arsenal of gadgets and traps at his disposal, but his most dangerous aspect is the fact that he is often accompanied by a phalanx of attack cyborgs. There are rumors that he works directly with the illusive Doctor Kotetsu, who provides him with his attack cyborgs in exchange for his services, which mostly involve stealing powerful technological items from local labs and tech companies. While not a high level threat, the Rockettes must still be careful when facing him, as his clever gadgets and accompanying cyborgs make him a formidable foe.
Doctor Kotetsu:
A banished and disgraced scientist, Kotetsu was black listed for his illegal experiments with human genetics and cybernetics. His long standing goal is to make humanity a combination of flesh and metal, creating a superior race from technology that can rival the magical marvels he has seen creeping up across the world. He commands an army of various cyborgs from a network of safe houses and labs scattered throughout the city, and employs the mercenary Marauder to help him steal powerful technological items. He is more of a nuisance for the Rockettes and of particular interest to Lady Crimson, given that he is an other world version of the same Doctor Kotetsu that was responsible for her winding up where she is today. While the Rockettes mostly allow the city's other heroes to deal with Kotetsu, they will aid and assist when necessary, put them on his radar as high value targets. His dream is to one day capture one of them, with the hopes he can graft his cybernetic nightmares with their magical powers to create thralls of imagined power.
The Harbingers:
The Harbingers are powerful servants of "The Entity" who wield incredibly powerful dark magic along with the ability to drain souls directly from their victims. They are created from "The Entity's" own dark essence and serve as its protectors and hunters. Harbingers normally hunt in pairs and are easily identifiable by their dark "mist" aura and their undead appearance. They wield incredible magic power and their very touch can be poisonous to any user of light magic or to any person who serves the side of good. They were originally created by "The Entity" to stop Freyja's plan of creating a magical team of heroines to combat it, and they nearly succeeded on several occasions, managing to severely injure and incapacitate Lady Crimson with their dark magic, and nearly killing her after luring her into a trap. After Majorette and Liberty Star became Rockettes, the Harbingers were no longer able to double team Lady Crimson, and they retreated to the shadows to await "The Entity's" instructions. The Harbingers are still considered to be dangerous foes, capable of severely wounding or even killing a Rockette if they get the opportunity.
