Description as promised (sorry for my bad english lol)

anyway...here some tips (or at least what i did learn XD in my years of practice)

* here i sketch the idea, don't be afraid of draw again and again until find the correct pose/idea.
* after this i try to make a clean line art as much possible. trying to not focus in have "perfect lines" in the parts that will be armored (after all it will be covered). the idea is to have a clear line art and a good proportion of your character. with a clean lineart its easier to see  anatomy mistakes in the drawing...a good proportion is equal to make look good your armored spartan (specially if you are starting)..if you are drawing in paper, be careful about the presure of your strokes in the sketch. because you need to use the earser a lot of times
(as i do XD)
* as you can see im just sketching the very basic figures of my armor. its important to have always a reference of the armor. for see how its formed. and try to simplify as much possible the armor. doesnt matter if its a realistic or cartoon look, we can focus in the details LATER!.
*after that i detail with thick lines first, and then try to add just a little of detail.
*after being happy with how it looks at first. now i detail a little more in my armor...earsing or adding details. i always look in the reference armor of my spartan like a guide  for the important details (but trying to don't add more...that's after the coloring)
*i add the basic colors and i paint the background (its already made, but i needed to hide it for show a clear progress of my picture in this "step by step")
*now that i have everything ready. i just add the secondary colors of my spartan (in this case). i add the gun because im so lazy XD (but most of the time i draw it lol...) anyway. then i add the shadows and the lights of the dark suit.
*i had the soft lights and some blood on my poor victim, in the next step i add a little more of lighting (hard lighting. armors need to have at least a little more of lighting)
*in this case my spartan in hurt after a bloody battle...obviously her armor took the worst part. i add more detail like scratches, textures and a style layer for simulate the metal destroyed, and the broken visor, the hair and other little details...same for the background: explosions, bullets, blood of  my spartan and other victims and of course some plasma shoots.
*after everything finished i add the color of the atmosphere around for give the final mood....i'm always giving details and more details until being happy XD, sometimes i'm way too much perfectionist. but whatever lol.

what i always recommed...
-if you are drawing spartan armors, first do the figure and look for the proportion. specially if its a female, the armors needs to follow the shape of the body (in the case of the male spartans, not always. but that's another topic XD).
-bring with you reference of the armors (you can take screenshots of your spartan, but be sure to be clear references, in front, back, behind...or just look in google images the armors, if you have an action figure, then better for you XD). its always good to have a guide specially if you are drawing ocs or fan arts (NOT TRACING!. USING REFERENCE IS USING LIKE A GUIDE BUT NOT FOR TRACE!. TRAIN YOUR HAND AND MIND). even if you want to draw a spartan armor with only your mind, be sure to practice  and memorize first with reference. (sometimes we don't have always a image or internet XD)
-always practice!. trial and error. drawing in traditional or digital way doesn't matter, just practce, practice and practice -w-.

hope this helps D:...and as i said before. sorry for my bad english XD, if you have questions. please ask here!.
