I'm trying to learn how to draw faces AND how to use colored pencils!I think this study turned out pretty well. ^-^
If you have any tips or advice for how to improve please let me know!

Have you heard of Prismacolor's Colerase pencils?
They are like colored pencils but erasable.

As a person who is delving into the world of realism, this is really quite proportionate! I've had quite a bit of experience with drawing front-facing portraits, and yours turned out better than mine have.
I found a YouTube channel that works with realism and proportion, as well as colouring. It's mainly for digital art, but the concepts and everything else can easily be applied to traditional media artwork. Let me know if you'd like the link to them; they're really cool, and explain things well.

I think the proportions are mostly beginner's luck though. My next piece isn't nearly as nice.

Proportions are hard to keep consistent, especially since they're a general guideline. When I draw faces from my mind without a reference, they always use the same base proportional system, and they wind up looking slightly similar.
Keep practicing! I must have sketched out a hundred faces (not even joking here I''m dead serious) before any of them started to look close to good.

This looks really nice! It's pretty darn proportional looking to me. I would say try more shading, but if you're just starting out with coloured pencils that can be very scary
