Description

Take blue paper/books/cloth to put it in the background and use shallow DoF.

This is really cool! I know every now and again someone tells me they couldn't shoot these kinds of photos, but a tutorial like this is just what they need to see to inspire them.
Great job!

Do you use anything else than a macro lens for these (such as, close-up filters etc.)? I've tried with my 105mm macro but it seems I just can't get enough magnification without cropping a lot.

No, I don't use anything. I'm happy with my lens. But I thought of buying macro rings when I only had a kit lens.

Nice job. Really informative. The only thing that you left out, that is important, is the light source.

Thanks
Yeah, I thought I would make one with an emphasis on the light source next time, not to overwhelm this simple tutorial.
