We chose to explain the arrival of Sentinel's ship on Earth as the doing of the AllSpark Cube: otherwise, the amount of Transformers and Transformers-related object which ended up on Earth by chance would really become preposterous. Isn't there any other planet in the universe?

Learn everything about the AllSpark Cube in Tf: The Movie (2007) .
Actually, you won't learn a lot... almost nothing, honestly. You'll just see that it can be shrinked down when the plot requires so. And then it's destroyed to kill Megatron. But Megatron doesn't die.
Ah, yes, the Cube can turn small machinery into petty, savage, pointless Transformers that are easily crushed.

The Stasis Lock concept was first introduced in Beast Wars .
