NOTES

Just like Soundwave 's, Blaster 's partners were designed to be able to combine with his main alt-mode, thus boosting his communication/audio capabilities.
In the early days of their existence, during one of the so-called Liberation Missions on an alien planet, Blaster and his partners accidentally stumbled upon a black market of siphoned Cybertronian tech.
While escaping the traffickers, the team got themselves trapped between a vast crevasse and the pursuing criminals.
Unable to take off with the limited capabilities of Blaster's hover-car alt-mode, the team had to come up with a more creative solution.
Eject suggested a new team-play approach that Rewind (thanks to his extensive data collection) was able to turn from theory to practice: in other words, the Cassettes altered their transformation enough to combine with Blaster's alt mode in a new way.
It wasn't a third alt mode, but an in-between mode, that allowed them to use their sonic-boosting abilities as extra propulsion engines, effectively turning Blaster's hover-car into a hover-jet.
Travelling on focused meta-sonic beams, Blaster took off with his whole team, out-distancing their pursuers and reaching an elevation that allowed Ramhorn and Steeljaw's radio-signal to reach the Autobot Repeater Satellite in orbit and receive immediate help.

Blaster's bodyframe, although not exactly fit for the Multiple Body Frames capability, shows a remarkable adaptability to foreign technologies, as it's the case of the "Wrath Of The Ages".
During the Civil War, as seen in page 18 of WoTA #4 , Blaster was able to adopt both the Quintesson Subatomic Hyper-cache and Shockwave's Fast Reformatting Protocol, developing a powerful alt mode that was almost able to withstand Megatron's might.
