------------------------------

Alright, time for the second story in Ellie's tales. This one will be a bit longer, around 10 parts. It will also widen the cast, alot, you'll meet two new characters.
This was still done a while ago, so expect some cringeworthy stuff like the blank space to the right. I tried fixing most of it, but you'll still notice some things. I was also recommended to frame the pics so they're easier to understand.
Oh, and in panels 14 and 17, Ellie(?) has a psycho look on her face because, well, how would you react to your lover not recognising you in her predicament?
Here's the link to the program I used to make these pictures: pochi.x.fc2.com/k_kisekae2.htm…

"Ah, I just love the warmth of the beach!", exclaimed Ellie, feeling the sand on her feet and the sun in her skin. She and her friend were walking along the shoreline, with the gentle waves almost reaching their feet.

"Me too", retorted Daria, "it's been a while since the last time I've been to it." Their school had arranged a trip to a summer resort during spring break for a couple of days. Though neither Daria nor Ellie were very fond of going with the rest of their classmates, they were always in for a little holiday to escape from the boring routine.

"I figure Raph is pretty excited about this too?" asked Ellie.

"Yeah, he's been looking forward to this trip, especially because we're gonna have alot more time to ourselves." One could clearly see Daria herself couldn't wait until she and her boyfriend were together. "But how about you?"

"Oh, I'll be fine, I'm going to meet some new people, make new friends. I can't hang around you guys and not letting you have any privacy all the time." Ellie was talking half-jokingly. As much as she, Ralph and Daria were close friends, she had to leave them be from time to time. After all, friends are close, but lovers are closer.

"Hey, don't get the wrong idea! I'm not shooing you or something." Daria made herself clear. "You can still be around us, it's just we might need some room sometimes."

"I get it, don't worry." The blonde girl etched a smile on her face. "I never had a boyfriend, but that doesn't mean I don't know what it's like to have a sweetheart."

Suddenly, the two girls stopped on their tracks. Their heads felt light, and their legs started to give in to their weights. It was not long before the two blacked out and fell in the sand, almost like motionless ragdolls. There they remained for a long time, disturbed by no one, not once moving said for their hair blowing in the wind.
Eventually they both woke up, with their heads still spinning from having fainted. Above all, the two girls felt confused, for nothing felt familiar. They felt out of their place, out of their minds. Not even their friend was next to them where she had been.
It's hard to explain how alien they were feeling, but the moment they looked at eachother they jolted up in absolute shock. Why did Ellie look so much like Daria, why did Daria look so much like Ellie? Clearly they were hallucinating from having fainted. They closed their faces up. It was like looking at a mirror. Even their swimwear was changed.

"This isn't real-" Ellie spoke up, quickly regretting her decision. The voice that came from her mouth wasn't her own, it was Daria's. She covered her mouth flabbergasted at what she had uttered, and her eyes watered up in panic.

Daria, however, wasn't too quick to give in to her emotions. Nevertheless incredulous, she checked her body, hair and clothing, and with every step what had happened was becoming more and more obvious. Still she expressed her thoughts, and saying "I can't believe it..." with her friend's voice was the strangest experience ever. She reached the dreadful conclusion: the two had somehow swapped bodies!

Daria noticed herself, or rather her friend Ellie, sobbing uncontrollably. It was like having her own giant clone crying, which was definitely not confortable. She reached a hand to her friend's back and calmly told her that she was still her friend Daria, that everything was going to be fine and to calm down. As much frightening as their predicament could be, Ellie had to calm down and she knew it. She started taking deep breaths and, in her head, repeating to herself what her friend had told her.
They were there for a while, with Daria attentively holding to her friend and trying to accept what had happened. The whole thing just felt surreal, and the faster they felt accustomed to the idea of living as eachother the better. How could this have happened? Would they be back to their old selves? Were they prepared to live as eachother if they didn't? She tried shaking those questions off her head. The lesser she worried about it, the better. Plus, time would give them the answers to those questions, if it ever did.

"I think... I think I'm alright now." Ellie said, with her voice shaking.

"Are you? I'm glad." Daria was also much more relieved. "Now I know it's not easy to get over this, but from now on we need to behave as each other. What would it look like to other people if they saw me acting like you?"

Daria wiped the tears from her face, and seemed to be much more accepting, even joking about it. "Or crying like me? Don't worry, I think I can handle it for now."

As if to challenge their words, Ralph came along. "Hi girls! Hello sweetheart."

"Um, hello Ralphie" said Ellie, who was surprised to see Daria's boyfriend reach an open palm towards her.

"It's a little noisy here at the beach. I'd love to go somewhere... quieter." Ralph looked his lover in the eyes, not knowing he was flirting with Ellie.

The poor girl understood the boy's message, and could not feel more awkward about it. However, even though she wanted to avoid this situation, she remembered Daria's words and kept her promise. "Alright, lover." She was now holding hands with her best friend's boyfriend. "See you later, Ellie."

"Yeah, later..." Daria's voice and face couldn't help but express how she felt about it, even though they were Ellie's voice and face. Switching bodies with her best friend, not being recognized by her own boyfriend and being left alone by the two of them? She was a strong girl, but even she had had enough. For the first time in a long time, Daria fell on her knees and cried.
