Character development! Onscreen changes! Sunshades!!
Not really much to say about this one. Now her hair colors change very nicely, though still not in a gradient.
Also I've found a way to make grass, yay! That and having the models swim in the ocean believably might be my greatest achievements in backgrounds ever. ^_^
Plus, I hope you like Daria's new clothes, for she'll be wearing them more often.

That day, Ralph had decided to take his girlfriend out for a date in the city. Since being playful and sensual hadn't worked out, he tried to be romantic without being cheesy, and amusing without being silly. He chose to go only to the places where he knew Daria would love to go, to do things he knew Daria would love to do.

First, the two had lunch in a local restaurant, which also doubled as an ice cream store, and after lunch they bought themselves ice cream for dessert.
After that, they walked into a bar and joined a karaoke contest, where Ralph sung a romantic song, dedicating it to Daria. He didn't win the contest, but he was sure to have won Daria's heart.
Later, they went to a carnival and entered a ride which involved wearing funny glasses and laughing at the images they showed. He wasn't one to like carnivals or amusement parks, but Daria secretly loved them since she was a kid, and he surprised her by taking her to one.
Finally, Ralph took Daria for a walk along the beach and into a park.

In the park, the two of them were lying down in the grass, watching the clouds go by. "I had a great time today" said Ellie to Ralph.

"I'm glad you liked all of it," answered the boy, "I planned it just for you."

Ellie thought to herself on how lucky Daria was to have a boyfriend like Ralph. Despite being a bit of a jock, he was kind-hearted and could even be very sweet when he wanted to. Not many girls could say they had a handsome boyfriend who was concerned both about his looks and about them. That was a privilege to experience.
Ellie's mind drifted, much like the clouds they were watching. Was this how having a boyfriend felt like? Now Ellie knew how good it was to have someone to care for her, much more than a friend. Even though everything Ralph had done that day wouldn't be appretiated by Daria herself (even if she told Daria afterwards, she wouldn't be as moved as she would have been) and Ellie knew none of that was for her, she couldn't help but feel touched by Ralph's surprise.

Her thoughts were interrupted when she felt tingling on her legs, arms and backside. She looked down to see what was happening... only to almost jump in surprise when she saw her wholel body slowly shrinking. The tingling was being caused by the blades of grass rubbing against her moving skin. Ellie passed her hands across her body, to make sure she was getting shorter. Much to her dismay, her height wasn't the only thing getting smaller: her chest was also reducing in size, turning her, Daria's, curvy torso into a soon-to-be much flatter one.
Ellie looked at Ralph. Was he watching her right now? No, his eyes were closed and he seemed to be dozing off. She had to think of something to do to prevent him from waking up and seeing her changing, and fast! Without a second thought, Ellie reached his pocket for his sunshades and placed them on his eyes.

She did it with such a commotion, however, that it made Ralph wake up. "Honey, are you putting sunglasses on me?" he asked, sleepy from his nap.

"Uh..." Ellie wasn't thinking on an answer quick enough "... I thought the sun would hurt your eyes when you woke up, so I decided to place them on your eyes. You look good with them!" she eventually said, while covering her chest to prevent him to see the shrinking.

"Oh? Thanks, hon." Ralph was still too sleepy to give a propper answer, and luckily too tired to even notice Ellie changing.

After this exchange, Ellie checked herself again, only to realise the changes were coming to a halt. Her chest was much more smaller than before, and her height was also much closer to her real one. She grabbed a lock of her own hair. It was much lighter now, having an almond color rather than Daria's dark brown. She lifted her head and observed her reflection on Ralph's shades. She looked ever less like her friend, and more like herself. Only her face resembled Daria somehow, and even then she wasn't fully like her. How would Ralph react to these changes if he noticed them?
She looked at the boy next to her, and remembered the good day she had spent with him. This was probably the closest she'd get to having a boyfriend for now, but it was close enough. Nevermind if she wasn't Daria, nevermind if they weren't really in love, this moment was not going to last. Daria placed a hand over her boyfriend's face. Together they stayed lying in the grass a little longer.
