I have an odd question. I keep looking at the skies in your pictures and they feel "strange" to me. I'm not sure if it's just because we don't have the cloud formations you do or if it's something you do afterwards in photoshop.... do you make much of a change post capture?

Yes, I normally post-process my photos, and this one in particular was processed quite heavily, especially the sky. I burned it quite a bit and boosted the contrast to make it appear more ominous.

We went through Ontario on the way to Quebec on one trip, and there were tornado warnings that morning. We were somewhere in the middle of the farm country along the highway and we got sky like this that then turned to that gray green dark look you see when a major storm is going to happen. We drove out from under luckily and it was all behind. Scary when that happens, eh?

That is scary, although thankfully we don't get weather like that around here very often. The skies weren't all that ominous when I took this photo, I just tweaked them a bit in post-processing to make them look that way.

YEa.. it really was spooky lookin...we don't get much of that kind of thing here..just the odd hurricane from time to time.. those don't bother me near as much as tornadoes

I think I'd love to see a tornado, but at the same time I'd probably be terrified by it. They usually move toward the northeast though, so as long as I was safely to the south or west of it, I'd probably enjoy it.

That's the thing, they are SO powerful and terrifying. seeing them from a distance is the only way..I've seen a couple . There's no getting away when they draw a bead on where you are..no thanks on those things.

gorgeous . i love how it looks like you took this picture from down low, and the composition is marvelous, like usual. love the colors, the fact that it was overcast really really works wonders for this picture
