Hahaha, this picture made me chuckle. Now I wonder whether you carried that vacuum-cleaner all the 32 miles from Sault Ste. Marie, or whether you found it among the rubble ;]
I like how the rod at the window picks up the vertical direction of the vacuum-cleaner. The vacuum-cleaner and the mattress look like traces that once someone lived in this mess, someone fought a desperate fight against the chaos mounting around them... and mid-cleaning their courage left them and they gave up, living the vacuum-cleaner behind like this. A sad place, despite my initial chuckle.

Haha, I found the vacuum there, but perhaps I should have taken it with me. It looks like it might actually still work, I could probably get a few bucks for it. Thanks for the comment.

So many abandoned houses up there. Where are all these people going? Why are they abandoning their homes?

There's not too many of them, I just go out of my way driving all over the place to find them. And I wish I knew where they were all going and why they just left their homes and belongings behind. I can understand leaving an empty house behind, but when furniture and toys and clothes are strewn all over the place, you have to wonder what might have happened.
