Description
I noticed this old television lying next to the road one day while on a bike ride, and I decided to go back and pick it up so I could use it in some photographs. You'll definitely be seeing more of it in the future. Anyway, this is a shot of the television sitting in the grass next to the Davignon/Bennett Creek Diversion Channel.Location of photograph: [link]

I love this.... I love how even though there's no physical emotion from a person in your pictures you still create a feeling.

Clever visual pun.
I'll be posting something similar in the future, but not a direct copy.

The extra stuff in the space of the screen makes it look like there's a programme going on.

It kind of looks like a rock band without the people... There's the guitar and all.

I love the composition, colors, and idea, but I think channel 5 has more contrasting programming.

ever heard the expression "one man's garbage is another's treasure"?

Haha, I couldn't agree more. I've since acquired many similar "garbage" items at garage sales and thrift stores that I've used as subjects in photos that I've yet to post here (they'll all be posted in time, though).

I like how you've angled and framed it so it looks like there's an image on the screen. Great colours too!

Genius work!
I love all the muted colours in this as well as the subject and composition,
Was this a set up or a found object?

Thank you, and thanks for the ! I found the TV on the side of the road just around the corner from where I took this shot, but set it up in position for the photo.

Excellent concept here. If you still have this TV it would make an excellent prop or tool for framing a certain type of photo. I feel that since the TV shows the effect of decay, time & rejection that it would make a hugely versatile prop for relating subjects, do you still have it?

Thank you. Yes, I still have it, and have used it in many photos that I've yet to post here (they'll be up sooner or later). I've found it to be a very versatile and effective subject, lots of fun to experiment with in different situations.
