Here's Simon trying to figure out the asrai he met recently. At the same time she seems to be trying to figure him out.

This turned out really well. Simon looks a bit wonky but the asrai happens to look niceish and I think her expression really helps. I got bored, so I turned this into a little comic sequence.

The asrai are an enigmatic folk. They live underwater, so there's a giant barrier right there. While they have are fairies, they're not considered part of the fairy hierarchy. Some would say because they're too distant. Others would say that the higher-ups don't want such a mysterious and powerful people sittin' below them. From this old soul's view, I say the latter. After all, they're a lot bigger than us. And they don't want to take a risk with what they could do.

Sources differ, since we can't talk to them and they don't want to talk to us, but they happen to live long lives. Some say a century at most. Others say that's the tip of the iceberg.

There exists a few records of those who wanted to interact with us smaller races. Younger asrai have been known to be extremely curious. I suppose I would be too if I spent all of my life in the cool embraces of the subaquatic world.

They can breathe basically anywhere: salt water, fresh water, or no water, are excellent swimmers, can understand us even though we can't understand them, and happen to enjoy somber music. Might even hum along if you can play the right cords.
