"Hey...Lilith?""Yeah?" Lilith cracked one eye and gazed down at Simon.
"...are we a couple?"
The forwardness and general nature disarmed Lilith for about a second, though she didn't lose her grin of satisfaction and comfort along the way. She took one hand and gave his head of scruffy brown locks a rub. "I don't know. Are we?" She smirked, taking control of the situation.
"Uh. Well...I dunno. I mean...we spend a lot of time together."
Lilith returned her hand to behind her head, looking down at the boy.
"And this...particular situation is indicative of two people who are close on a very deep level. Much like a...well...a couple is..." He tossed around the ideas in his head. "I mean, I'm here and you're..." He blushed at the thought.
"In panties?" Lilith smiled and leaned her head back, sort of thinking but already knowing what she planned to say. "You're thinking too much. You can read the signs but in the end it's up to you, isn't it? How you feel and all that junk."
"...true." Simon lost himself in thought for a second, though he came back when Lilith playfully pushed her bosom together, engulfing him ever so slightly.
"So, little man, are we an item?" Her tone was still playful. Normally all the toying she did with him was physical, though it seemed she was delving into the psychological teasing as well.
"Um..." Simon looked down, getting a face full of soft flesh as a result.
"I won't be hurt, you know." She smiled.
"Well...I just...I don't think I'm ready for a relationship. And...I mean...I'm not really, y'know, enough. I don't mean that in regards to my size. Just...well...me."
Just then he felt a cool finger scratch him lightly on the head. "You're great, Simon." He looked up and found Lilith giving him a look of both assurance and warmth. "When the time comes, I'm sure you'll make one lucky girl very happy."
Simon paused. This was never a subject he was comfortable with. Not just his ability as a significant other, though that tied into it, but his own worth. And yet, coming from a face he cherished and trusted, he felt a slight burst of confidence surge though his body. But the question still lingered.
"So..." Lilith began, and then hung for an answer.
"...I guess I'll wait until I know I'm ready." He gave a sheepish nod.
"Okay, good." Lilith relaxed a bit. "We're not a couple. Now hush up and be smothered by my tits." And with that she gave him a firm press and smiled.
I suppose if you start at rock bottom, the only way to go is up, ya?
Basically, I just remade a picture I did a few days ago, but with the idea that I need to improve in mind. It is more of a reinvention, but I still needed to learn how to color digitally. How to shade and use what I had available. And Gimp, despite not being one of the bigger programs, came through just enough to pump out something I'm almost proud of.
Also, I wanted to explore a question that has sort of lingered in my head for a while: Do Lilith and Simon have romantic potential. Honestly I'm not a fan of romance unless I think it can really work. And I'm also non-committal and wishy-washy when it comes to the subject. So I've come up with a sort of so-so answer to ward off the idea. I dunno. If you don't care, do enjoy the large breasts and exposed black panties that I have provided.
I think red's a better couch color anyway....

As much as seeing these two together is overwhelmingly adorable, the truth of the matter is that they can never be a couple. They still might love and see each other, but unless Lilith can shrink herself and become a tinyfolk forever, their two worlds will always remain separate as the law of nature forbids. Sort of like the bittersweet ending to "Fern Gully" where Zak must return to his own world to stop the destruction of rain forests, leaving his lover, Crysta behind.
While this drawing is definitely an improvement over the last piece, my advice to you would be to try and clean up the sketch lines that muddle up the insides of the figures and objects. This is to make the presentation a lot nicer if you're going to be exclusively coloring pencil sketches. Either that, or try and ink your drawing digitally on a separate layer before coloring if your program allows it. Other than that, I really like the colors you chose for this particular piece, it conveys the warmth of the scene quite nicely.

I definitely wanted to put the idea to bed somehow, but I wanted it to be somewhat genuine. Not a relationship that couldn't be because of the mechanics of the universe but rather some variety of actual character decision. Actually have Simon choose who to be and all that. So the two put the potential question to rest, Simon deciding he's not ready for any kind of relationship and Lilith willing to be so but not particularly in need of romance. So it can be contextually answered and maintained.
As for the neatness, yeah, I need a bit of work. Inking is a bit imprecise IRL, but I'll do my best to clean up and improve my work.

A question I never thought of, though considering how often they spend time together doing this kind of stuff I'm surprised I didn't. It's nice to hear the answer, and see how they feel about this sort of thing. Good friends are nice to have, and nice to see.
