Timira was born with heterochromia, and to her parents she was the most beautiful and special cub they had ever seen. But to the other cubs in the Pridelands, Timira was a "freak" for her different-colored eyes and was subject to horrid ridicule. One of the only cubs that befriended her was Prince Chaka, although Princess Shani and her friends did eventually come around to Timira as well. Timira grew very insecure of herself due to all the teasing she endured, and would often run to her den crying and trying to hide herself from others. It even got to the point where she tried to run away as a teenager, but Chaka caught her. The two's friendship eventually blossomed into love, and as Timira got older, she started to realize that her uniqueness was a strength, not a weakness.
