Born the only child of Queen Rani and Prince Consort Kiongozi, Laini is the crown princess of the Nomad Pride, however she was raised like any other cub. Though she was the youngest and only cub in the pride, Laini was well loved by her parents and pridemates, with many of them not minding keeping her busy. Most often she was accompanied by her cousin Kofi, who delighted in getting to play with her and tell her stories. Laini, much like her mother, was a bright and cheerful cub, and much like her father, she was adventurous and brave, the two sides serving to balance her out. For a while, life was peaceful, however that soon changed.
The Nomad Pride are known for roaming around, usually following old footpaths, but this time it was different. Kion was on a journey back home, back to his past to make amends for all he'd done. Their first destination was Jasiri's Clan, where he'd left Boga, however upon arriving, they found the clan was gone. Giving up hope of finding Boga, they then decided to head to the Pridelands Pride, Kion's home. Through all of this, Laini could tell how much it meant to her father, and she grew excited at the prospect of meeting her kin. Unfortunately, Kion never got to see his family; while traveling through a mountainous area, the path gave out, and in an effort to save their pridemates, Kion and Rani fell to their deaths. Laini witnessed the whole ordeal and was traumatized by the loss of her parents. The pride quickly left the mountain behind, but the damage was done.
While the pride mourned their loss, Laini was the most affected. She didn't know who to blame; should she blame the mountains for the flimsy path, her father for taking them on this journey? Or maybe both her parents, for being so brave as to sacrifice themselves. She ended up shutting herself away from the others, trying to control her emotions and feelings; she felt weak for crying in front of the others, and she hardly felt like the once confident and brave little princess her parents had dubbed her. When the time came for the pride to move on and continue life, they had to choose a new leader. At first, all eyes turned to Ode, but when she refused, they shifted to Laini. Still a cub, Laini realized her responsibility; her parents were gone now, and it was up to her to be their leader, to guide them as her parents had. Steeling her nerves and emotions, Laini accepted the title of queen and decided to finish her father's journey. Now bearing the title of queen, she felt she had to grow up and behave as a queen should, and so she abandoned her cheerful, childlike innocence in favor of being stoic and serious, if somewhat snippy.

Here's Laini! She's personally one of my favorites and I really like how she turned out ^^ As you can see, she's a cub while the others are grown adults, however they are still in the same generation. I can't wait to do more of her, and I hope you guys enjoy
