Nala is the first born of Scar and Sarafina, and though her father wasn't very involved, she had a relatively normal cubhood. Nala was a small cub with a big personality, and she wasn't afraid to speak her mind or show her dominance over the other cubs, especially Simba. Though the two playfully argued a lot, they were the best of friends, and when Simba wasn't busy, Nala often spent her time with him. However, she was pretty friendly, and very close with all the cubs, and normally lead their little adventures and expeditions when Simba wasn't around. Their happy life seemed perfect, until one day it all ended.

The loss of Mufasa and Simba was hard on everyone, but especially Nala, who'd lost her best friend. Things only seemed to get worse as the hyenas moved in upon her father's request, and the hyenas took special interest in bullying the cubs at every turn when the lionesses weren't around. Even though Scar was now king, Nala and her siblings still weren't given special treatment, though the hyenas did work to not hurt them in front of Scar, just in case. As time went by and Kula and Chumvi drifted from the friend group, Nala brought Tojo and Tama closer to her, and did her best to protect them as best she could.

When her mother died, Nala was only a teenager, but this further steeled her resolve, and instead of giving up, Nala took on all the leadership roles she could to help out Sarabi and give the old lioness a break. But things weren't so simple. The dry season came, and as the lands dried, prey left and water ran out. Feeding the lionesses was hard, and as they began to succumb to starvation and disease, Nala knew she needed to do something. Against Sarabi's wishes, Nala, now an adult, managed to sneak out of Priderock and away from the Pridelands, originally going to find the Mountain Pride to ask for assistance. But along the way, as she journeyed through the jungle, she met an unlikely face: Simba.

Their reunion was fast and excited, but as Nala tried to get Simba to face his past, she found no such luck. She worried she wouldn't be able to convince him, and she'd have to travel even further to seek out Malka's help, but much to her relief, he finally agreed to go back and face Scar. Though the battle was long and brutal, Nala and the others finally won, and Simba took his place. Nala, in the short time they'd been together again, had fallen for Simba, and he for her, and so Nala rose to his side as queen and helped stabilize and restore the Pridelands, with Nala taking the most control due to her prior experience as a leader for the lionesses.

As the grass turned green and the prey returned, Nala gave birth to Kopa, Kiara, and Kion, and the three cubs were the apples of her eye. She adored them all and spent as much time with them as she could despite her duties and responsibilities. When the cubs were a bit older, Nala spent more time with Kiara, as she believed her daughter would rise to be a huntress. But after Kopa's tragic death, Kiara was made the future ruler, and so halted her hunting lessons from Nala. After the loss of her son, Nala was understandably distraught, however unlike Simba, she didn't develop any paranoia like he did.

Time passed and it seemed all too soon that Kion and Kiara were growing up. Kion went missing, leaving the pride behind, and so Nala then became much closer to Kiara, realizing that she was her only child left. Before long Kiara was going on her first hunt and returning with Kovu. Nala was wary of Kovu, as their run-ins with Outlanders in the past were less than pleasant. However he worked to prove himself to the pride, and seeing him make Kiara so happy warmed Nala's heart. That is, until he betrayed the pride and put her mate in danger. Nala was now furious, as was Simba, and they banished Kovu from the Pridelands.

War, once more, loomed over the pride, and Nala was more than ready to take on the Outlanders after what they did to her family. After fighting long and hard, the Pridelanders won, and in a controversial move, the Outlanders became one with the Pridelanders. Nala was at first wary, especially after everything Kovu put them through, but talking with Kiara convinced her to give them a chance. Simba's new injury meant he could no longer properly fulfill his duties, and so he and Nala decided to retire and hand the reigns over to Kiara, with the two giving advice whenever they could. Though leadership was difficult at first for Kiara, with Nala and Simba's help, she managed to get along just fine until the birth of her own cubs, and Nala's new, beloved grandcubs, who would be torn apart by greed and power.

Now for Nala! As you can tell, her design has changed a bit, and I have a good reason for it. Due to some familial relations switching around, I wanted Nala to better reflect her parentage, namely Scar. I was able to keep her pelt color relatively similar, and mainly just changed her nose and chin. Not too many characters have this, and I try to keep the changes as small as possible, but for certain characters, they will be a bit more revamped and changed to fit their lineage.
