Simba was born the beloved, and only, child of King Mufasa and Queen Sarabi. With all the difficulty that came with bearing him, his parents adored him and devoted much of their time to him, and with so much attention and the title of prince, Simba became a bit egotistical, breaking rules and venturing where he wasn't supposed to. Realizing this, Sarabi and Mufasa were quick to properly teach and discipline him to try and right their wrongs. However, their teachings didn't get very far.
On that fateful day, when Simba witnessed his father fall to his death in the gorge, Simba ran. He felt he could do nothing else, and so he ran and ran until he couldn't anymore. Thankfully, before anything could happen to him, he met Timon and Pumbaa, who took pity on the small cub and raised him in the jungle, caring for him and teaching him to survive. But surviving on bugs wasn't so easy for a growing lion cub, and it was only by luck that he one day met a rogue male who made Simba curious. He hadn't seen any lions since arriving, and through his persistence, came to know the male as Tanglemane. Though Timon and Pumbaa weren't fond of Simba's relationship with Tanglemane, the young cub was ecstatic to have another lion around who wouldn't know of his past.
Through time, Tanglemane taught Simba to fight and hunt, helping Simba's strength grow as he ate full meals, and learned to steer clear of the nearby Jungle Pride, who were vicious to outsiders. As a teenager, Simba one day returned to their meeting place to find it empty, and in searching for Tanglemane, found the old male had passed away. Distraught by the loss of yet another father figure, Simba mourned the death of the rogue, and came to be even more attached to ignoring his problems instead of facing them, instead choosing to be carefree.
As an adult, Simba was once again, faced with his past in the form of Nala, his old childhood best friend. She urged him to return to the Pridelands with her, to face Scar, but he at first refused; he'd lived so long without having to worry, and that felt good. But it was Nala and Rafiki's words and his encounter with his father that made Simba finally rise up to the challenge. Traveling back home with his small family, Simba confronted Scar and fought his uncle, leading to Scar's death and the banishment of the hyenas and Zira. Simba was finally home, and he took his rightful place as king, with Nala as his chosen queen.
It took some time for Simba to catch up on the horrors put upon his old friends, and the tragedy of the loss of Chumvi and Tojo hit him hard. Simba was now determined to never run again, and become the leader his pride needed him to be. At first, it was difficult, and Nala was the main one running the show, organizing patrols and hunts, and when Malka came to visit and help, Simba learned from him as well, and was happy to see Malka and Tama leave together as a couple. But, he could not deny the losses of many of the lionesses to starvation and disease, and while Kula gave birth and Nala became pregnant, there was a large, gaping hole in the pride that needed to be filled, and Simba was desperate to fill the gap.
His prayers were answered in the form of Mega, Sabini, and Leo, as well as Sabini's unborn cubs, and Simba welcomed them into the pride with open arms, not long after welcoming his children with Nala: Kopa, Kiara, and Kion. He adored his children, and in this time of peace, he wasn't expecting any uprising from those he had banished. As Kopa, Kiara, and Kion grew, he began to train Kopa to be the future king, but his son, much like Simba when he was younger, was more interested in exploring. Simba didn't think much of it, and let Kopa have his fun from time to time, not knowing of his son's secret friend.
Then, one day, Kopa turned up missing. The pride became worried and sent out search parties, and it was Simba, with just two other lionesses, who found his body. Simba was devastated and furious, not only with himself but the murderer. At first, he believed it to be hyenas, due to all the hyena scent, but then he caught the faintest, familiar scent: Zira. Enraged, he roared to call to Zira and she answered, and though he wished to enact revenge, his pridemates managed to calm him down enough to not do so, and he swore that if Zira and her brood were to ever cross the border or do something like this again, she'd pay for it.
The confrontation marked the first real threat Simba would have to his throne after Scar, that being Zira and her group of Outlanders. As they retrieved and buried his son, Simba now was on edge, becoming strict and paranoid and refusing to let his children out alone without supervision. Kiara, now the future ruler, was especially close to Simba's heart, and he often employed Timon and Pumbaa to follow her and keep her safe. He tried to do the same for Kion, asking Zazu to follow him, but combined with the majordomo's royal duties, proved to be almost impossible, and so Simba had to be craftier.
He sought out some close friends to the royal family, and convinced Beshte, son of Basi, the leader of the local ruling hippo pod, Ono, the protege of Zazu, and Fuli, the daughter of a family friend, to befriend Kion and look out for him, and the group created the Lion Guard, their own little game to keep them occupied, and while Simba didn't fully approve, Kion seemed happy, and he knew that the group, including Bungaa, the only one not approached by Simba, would keep him safe.
Time passed on, and Zira's threats, though not growing, were still looming over the Pridelands Pride, and Simba's worries continued. When Kiara and Kion grew into teenagers, more problems arose; Kion, finding out his friendships were built on lies, separated from Beshte, Fuli, and Ono, and now took his anger out on his father. the family arguments escalated more and more until one day, Kion left, taking Boga and Bungaa with him, and despite Simba's attempts to find him, came up empty. Now the kingdom rested solely on Kiara, but Simba tried to keep this stress away from her daughter.
As Kiara became a young adult, Simba, especially after losing both his sons, tended to treat her like a child. With the introduction of Kovu to the pride, Simab was even more tense and protective, not trusting Kovu much at all at first. But as time went on and Kovu proved to be a good person, Simba began to view him as a son, and after not having one for so long, it felt nice to pass on his wisdom once more. But when Kovu betrayed them, leaving Simba injured and weak, his faith was shattered, and his resolve hardened. When Kiara came up missing, his anger and pain only got stronger, and he felt he had lost most everything. And with Zira's Outlanders approaching for battle, he put himself on the front lines, prepared to sacrifice himself for his pride if need be.
The battle was though, and though the Pridelanders outnumbered the Outlanders, it was still difficult to fight in the rain in Simba's condition, and the time to face Zira head on was here. She struck a strong blow, tearing his already weak leg and sending him crumbling. As Zira was about to deal the killing blow, Kovu and Kiara interrupted, and though Kiara preached peace, Zira was having none of it, and she attacked. Kovu intervened, throwing his own mother to her death and officially ending the war. But the repercussions were brutal.
After the battle, Simba was crippled by his leg, and this coupled with his recent emotional turmoils, made him step down as king, handing the mantel over to Kiara and Kovu. Though it seemed short-lived, Simba felt he had nothing else to offer as king, and over time, Nala helped him accept his new role in the pride. As time passed, it seemed peaceful, with hardly any hiccups, and Simba eagerly awaited the birth of his grandcubs, not knowing the turmoil that would follow after.

And so generation 4 has begun! Here we have our main man, the one and only Simba! Getting his face right was a bit of a challenge, but I hope I did him a little bit of justice.
Though school has started, I'll do my best to keep up a regular upload schedule for Lines in the Sand, and the rest of generation 4 will be on their way
