Chumvi was well known around Priderock as the most excitable and friendly cub, always on the move with a big smile on his face. His mother, Haja, adored her cubs, and Chumvi was very close with both his mother and the other cubs, getting along with everyone. He particularly got along with Tojo, the two being best friends as Tojo reminded Chumvi to be calmer while Chumvi reminded him to let loose and have fun sometimes. He was also known as a genuine sweetheart, taking care of and looking out for the other cubs despite not really being the leader of their friend group. Overall, life seemed perfect for Chumvi, and he had high hopes of growing up one day to be a fierce guard of the Pridelands. But much like the other lions of the pride, everything changed after one day.

The loss of Simba and Mufasa hit harder, but what made it worse was the absence of his mother. Haja turned up missing, and Scar, acting as a caring father figure, put the idea in Chumvi's mind that she'd abandoned him and Kula. Chumvi, of course, defended his mother, but as she never came back and she didn't turn up dead, he began to believe Scar. The loss of Haja made both Kula and Chumvi distraught, and Scar took advantage of this, caring for them and taking them under his wing. Chumvi grew to care for his uncle a lot more, as now he was the only kind of father figure he had left.

As Chumvi grew, he became more and more blind to Scar's faults, following his orders and learning from him each and every day. He valued the lessons of hunting and fighting, and his personality began to change too; he grew more stern, more strict, and more loyal to Scar, and with the distance created between himself and his old friends, any chance of the old Chumvi coming back seemed unlikely. No longer was he bright and cheerful, but instead aggressive and serious, the perfect soldier and body guard for Scar. Seeing Scar as a parental figure, and having already lost Haja, Chumvi felt it was his duty to stay alongside his uncle, and to defend him from anything.

While he was close to Scar, that didn't mean he was close to the hyenas. Chumvi despised the hyenas, and they, too, despised him. In his teenage years he was even cornered and attacked by a small group he'd been antagonizing, and though Chumvi won and the hyenas were scolded and beaten, they left lasting scars on his face, but this only made him feel more powerful and bold when dealing with the hyenas. As Chumvi's mane began to grow in, he took on more responsibilities, and Scar even let him give advice in certain situations, something Shenzi was not happy about. Kovu's sternness and compliance to Scar made him favorable, and Scar, not counting on the weakness of his own sons, knew he needed an heir, and Chumvi was the perfect candidate.

Chumvi accepted his role as heir, but did not feel any anger towards Scar for being leader, as Chumvi knew his time would come when it was right. In the meantime, Chumvi had found a mate and was expecting his own cubs, but before she could return, Simba returned and challenged Scar. At the time, Chumvi was patrolling the border, but as the fire broke out, Chumvi worried for Scar's safety, and he rushed into the flames to save Scar, becoming consumed by flames. Scar counted on his undying loyalty and Chumvi delivered to his very last breath.

And now, big bad Chumvi. Kovu is quite the spitting image of his father, but that's kind of the point. Chumvi and Kula's stories are some of my favorites, even if things don't really turn out well for them. The relationship between Kula, Chumvi, and Scar is a lot different from what I've done before, and I actually really liked how it turned out.

Hope you guys enjoy!
