Description You may notice that also has this image in her gallery... this is because she was kind enough to post it before I was a member on dA.
So now I'm stealing it back.

When I heard about the whole Dan Radcliffe Equus "omg Harry Potter's nakeddddd" thing, this immediately came to mind.
Why not manipulate two beloved internet characters to make a point about the ridiculous nature of it all?

I used screenshots of youtube and a scene creator website for Potter Puppet Pals [link] authorized by the PPP creator, Neil Cicierega (we love you, neil!)
Then I butchered them both in MS paint.

Enjoy! (The deviation, not the nudity of Dan Radcliffe. I don't know who'd enjoy that.)

pure genius. I must show this to be my english/drama class - we're studying Equus right now, and my teacher keeps saying stuff about how some people only like the play because Harry Potter was in it. xD

and in another scene he asks about a "truth drug" and me and my friend both were like "Vireticerum!!!!" but other than that it was amazing .. and he totally broke the HP mold with this show, hes a great actor

wow, i'm pretty surprised; i'd thought that his performance in the last few HP films was lacking. but i guess he was just in a rut with the character...? anyway, good for dan! i'll bet he's glad that his fame won't die with the J.K. Rowling franchise.

I agree with you on the HP acting, thats why I wasnt expecting anything exciting going into the show. But he had me in tears at the end of the show. Like big, sobbing, snotty tears. And the scene was so moving that you dont even realize hes naked. (not like you dont notice it...kinda hard not to lol, but its so emotional that you forget)

have you seen/going to see the show?

yeah, the nudity was like that too in Hair, which I saw this summer in Central Park. it's just not relevant, it's an extraneous detail. i know what you mean.

and no, i haven't seen it, nor do i plan to. the subject matter is too icky for me.

omg so jealous you got to see Hair!! I wanted to see it so bad, I think I may go when it comes to B'way.

Yeah, the subject matter is not for everyone lol some lady walked out during the intermission ... lol

thatRandomer In reply to n-wkd [2008-10-14 22:24:04 +0000 UTC]

yeah Hair was SO good! i wanted to see it twice but unfortunately i was away for the rest of the summer... the best part is that you don't have to pay for it, you wait on line with other Hair fans and get it for free, which is an awesome (and also appropriate) method distributing tickets.
It's interesting, a few years ago I saw a musical adaptation of Shakespeare's Two Gentlemen of Verona, also at the Delacorte (and also composed by Galt MacDermot! and therefore also amazing) and a woman left during intermission then too. but for a different reason! there was a song during the first act that was like, pretty left-wing and anti-bush, and this lady started booing! the security people talked to her during intermission and she didn't come back for the second act.

wow that sucks for her lol youve gotta know going into a play that your not gonna agree with everything thats said and just forget get over it. i was shocked this lady left cause i mean, she payed for the tickets lol

and the free tickets for Hair is so awesome! i really wanted to do that, but i had no one to go with me, and i wasnt driving into the city alone lol .. you got to see John Groff!! your so lucky lol .. although i got to see him in Spring Awakening lol i saw clips of the performance and was completely blown away, i really wish i was there lol

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

thatRandomer In reply to n-wkd [2008-10-15 22:29:00 +0000 UTC]

yes, jonathan Groff was excellent. though he left halfway through the run (not that I saw it with his replacement anyway), so that sucks. he's so talented! and so attractive.
I mean I'd seen Spring Awakening a couple months before, and was struck me was that Claude was totally different from Melchior. I mean obviously that's what an actor tries to do with different roles but not every actor accomplishes it, and he pulled it off beautifully. i mean, the hair, long beautiful hair(shining, gleaming, streaming, flaxen, waxen!), helped with the transformation, lol, but the acting/singing/everything was just awesome.

Indeed. Luckily i've been able to avoid the Boy-Who-Lived's nudity myself, but that doesn't stop me from wincing every time i think of it.
and i think you'd have a rather hard time seeing someone's butt from... not behind. heh heh .

Well, my favorite books are the Thursday Next series by Jasper Fforde. They're really funny, but if you're not into literature (not so much literature as reading), you probably won't like them as much as i did.
The books i'm drooling over right now are Twilight and its sequels (by Stephenie Meyer). On the surface they seem like trashy teen romance novels - with vampires thrown in - but are surprisingly compelling.
Robin McKinley's another good fantasy author.
And try Philip Pullman (His Dark Materials - Book 1 Golden Compass) if you haven't already. It's got very similar wit and complexity to HP, albeit a different style.

Sorry if that was more than you asked for. But i like reading.
