Description
Another guide, this time to help with creating a nice character personality or background. Also a lot of information on how to fix a mary sue... Remember that it's okay to have a character that is a princess or totally amazing, just make the character believable.
Again I really hope this is helpful to anyone!
Filling out biographies is a great way to know your character better. Here are some memes/guides you can use to help!

I loved this guide by the way, as well as the other guide you posted back sometime ago. I honestly think back to this all the time now, quite
musingly. Β
I usually think of stories before I create a character and vice-versa. Sometimes I have a hard time doing that until I come across some sort of inspiration. Magazines are great for that.

This was extremely helpful!
It's really hard for me know-a-days to create a well-rounded character
as I was able to when I was much younger. (The imagination factor was WAY higher than now)
But with this, I think that I can make good characters and portray them in the stories
that I'd like to have them in!~
Thank you very much for going through the trouble of making this~

I really like this tutorial, it's clear and easy to understand and (as said before), covers all the basics. I have a question though... How do you usually come up with characters, do they just pop up in your head, or do you think up a nice design and you're like "aw man just by looking at him I can imagine his whole life story" or what? I'm really curious 'cause it's different for everyone

thatWeasel In reply to Stray111 [2012-09-03 17:55:26 +0000 UTC]
thank you ^^
And I've come up with characters by many ways.. Sometimes I'll just be doodling, and decide that I like what I've drawn and I'll build upon that, to make a character.
But I've also made up characters using only a voice or a name. Creating a life story for a character can take a while, and sometimes I know a life story before I even have a design for them~
I don't know if that was helpful at all, sorry ;A;

hehe, thanks for replying, it was very helpful indeed :3
that's kind of what I do too, and sometimes I build the story along with the character as well.
