Yes except the Script was originally written for the Mad Hatter, but instead of rewriting it they lazily tried to make the old script fit around the riddler, which is why you have Riddler as a former Wayne Tech employee using Mind control!

holy crap.....I did not know the script was originally for the Mad Hatter....huh. Jim would have played that well too...but what if they casted Johnny Depp to be the Mad hatter at that time you know, as a strange coincidence?

From what I heard they originally wanted Robin Williams as the Madhatter/Riddler. but he was reportedly still upset with them because he was all set to play the Joker and the WB cast Jack Nicholson at like the last minute. So he declined.

....WHAT?!?!?!?!!!! Robin Williams as Joker... I can actually see that to be honest....there was this one fan trailer for “The Dark Knight Rises” where Robin Williams was portrayed as Dr.strange, it fit him so well.
