Description
Welcome to the Metro Bus Sign Series, where you will witness the bus signs combining the past with the present and the future. In this installment, we take a look at Line 209. If you're wondering, this is sort of like having D.J. Khaled on repeat; however, this is not the same 209 that I have posted in 2017 via the [A] & [B] versions -- if you want to see those versions, please see them in the links below:Original version of the 209:

Here are some notable timelines for the 209. When it was first released by Metro Los Angeles, it was originally slated to be taken out altogether... in its entirety. With the demand from the public that this line needs to be saved, Metro decided to keep the line, but it has to be modified. In the end, the new 209 shaped up to where the end points moved to their previous spots. On the northern side, the 209 ends where the 740 used to reside: at Jefferson Park via the Expo/Crenshaw Stations where patrons can transfer to/from the E & K Lines. On the southern side of the route, the 209 ends at Crenshaw Boulevard and Rosecrans Avenue. The majority of the route is still on Arlington/Van Ness Avenue, but it is now between Obama Boulevard & Imperial Highway to connect the C Line's Crenshaw Station.
