What is real? The Rose Valley is a location on a planet called Monument in the Rho Ophiuchi Cloud Complex and is the main memory simulation for individuals whom perish aboard Mercy's Reach, called the "Planescape" aboard the ship. While the simulation can be entered through a number of means, there are different speeds of interaction with the ship and the real world, each of the memory trees processes time at a different rate. This means that most interactions are one way, making ship time very limited for individuals whom prefer planetary operations. While farming and resource gathering is the most common, there are ways out of the valley and to other worlds. The dark trees are a phenomenon of Monument's natural defense against the dragon and those that might disturb it, the Black Forests are dense and cause disorientation for those that enter.

Almost directly on other side of the ridge Map 2 to the East begins with the Fortress City of Monument, which is the planetary capital and lair of the Void Dragon, Lord Ax.
