Description
A mild break with tradition here (for a change).I've been giving pro-create a whirl and this was my first piece, although not a true scratch build (but miles away from being a kitbash), this is my take on an existing character for the Necron character Obyron (Necron = very old, entitled middle aged person whose consciousness got uploaded into a metallic body well over 60 million years ago....link below).
However he DOES have a model, trouble is it's in the infamous citadel finecast (fancy name for a bubbly, crumbled resin, made of nightmares).
Here's the existing model: skaystore.ru/images/detailed/6…
I started off by taking parts (spares usually from other necron models and chopping and changing pieces, including pinning, extending and cutting away existing parts.
- First real work with procreate putty (started with the back), a bit too scratchy for my tastes so far, but it's surprising how quickly you can work out how best to use it (See the banshee/wych sculpt I've done and you'll see what I mean).
Necron race wiki: warhammer40k.wikia.com/wiki/Ne…
Sculpted in procreate.
Scale 35mm, in line with current GW minis.

Very stern pose great work. I like how this guy has a buffer upper torso.
Is this darker green stuff done with this "procreate putty"?
Did you find it easier to sculpt flat armour with this vs. green stuff?

It's more of a grey colour, you can find it anywhere online.
Hmmm...it's quite nice, I'd need to give faces a whirl before I fully make up my mind, but it does the job, very good for armour, but with organic shapes I prefer green stuff.

You smoothed out the armor well.
Yea I love greenstuff but it can be a little sticky when first mixed.
I'll scoop some up. You did get me into greenstuff in the first place.

I quite like the sticky quality, it's idea for spikes, scales, armour and organic shapes.
