A commission for . This one is a revamp of Halo's Halberd-class destroyer, as it might appear in a universe based on design principles and technological assumptions that may not be fully "hard" sci-fi, but at least "tough" sci-fi. This includes a deck layout that is oriented perpendicular to the axis of thrust, making the ship more like a skyscraper than a seagoing ship or airplane (a la The Expanse); this is also reflected in some exterior design choices, like making the "top" and "bottom" sides more balanced and symmetrical, and the orientation of certain features, like the UNSC emblem. The hull has a streamlined, stealthy look, with most of the secondary greebles eliminated in favor of solid plating. There are more conspicuous maneuvering thrusters around the hull, including forward-facing retro thrusters. The main engines as well as the retros have protruding heat radiator panels, the ones in the main engines adapted from the Halberd's existing "wings". The design also has a greater number sensors and EWAR gear, including radar panels, targeting lasers & radar emitter and a microwave jammer. The underlying technological assumption in this version of the Halo universe was that Covenant ships are hard to detect and throwing around a lot of ECM, and the destroyers are used to get in close to jam them and paint them as targets.

The portside view is fully rendered, while the front and top ones are merely sketches intended to communicate the overall shape. It was quite a challenge figuring out how the shapes would look in a 2D image.
