Description
Now for one of the most bizarre scenes in all of Halo fiction, ie that one time Fred-104 got body-surfed. This is one of those pieces that'll probably only make sense to those of you who've read Last Light.Artistically, there's some new things I did here, like the extreme perspective; a lot of my pieces are just neutral flat shots and I really tried to get the "camera" into the middle of the action here.

I remeber this scene! LOL. One of the only books I've read (Not a person for reading books, just not my hobby)

That was the moment that completely made me turn from being mildly dissapointed with that book to completely dissapointed. Excellent drawing though.

Yes, the picture is good over all. Could have been better subject matter but despite my hatred for that book the art is undeniable in it's quality.

Yeah, I hate the scene. I over all hate that book. The picture is well drawn, good coloration, the perspective well done, and the background is nice, just wish it was of something I didn't hate. But my personal hatred for the book can't remove the quality of this art.

I certainly did not hate the book. If you do, I don't understand why, but that's you.
But, yes, the art is very well made

Each to their own. I personally thought the moment itself was kind of outlandish, something that probably wouldn't have worked if the book up until that point hadn't won me over; as it stands, I like that there was some levity going on. And thanks.

That's exactly why i didn't like it. Up until that point the book had been nothing but not what it was advertised as(not a murder mystery and not about blue team) so when it came to that scene i didn't think it had earned the right to have a comical moment. Levity has it's time and place. A life or death situation to me isn't the time. It wasn't the worst moment in the book but it completely took me of of worry about any actual danger.

Awesome work, as always. Have you read Smoke and Shadow? I have to believe you'll be drawing Rion and the rest of the crew on here eventually.

I have, and I will. It'll probably take some time to get the character designs right but expect it to pop up at some point (I really liked the story as a breath of fresh air BTW).

What I love is that this book showed that while the MJOLNIR armor is powerful, it has a very big supply flaw since a small bomb can neutralize a Spartan by damaging and knocking out the reactor.

To be fair, it's not too often that the wrong people get the chance to tinker with disassembled MJOLNIR armor (it was made clear that letting Veta inside the armor repair shop was a one-time exception and still a flagrant breach of protocol). I can also imagine the UNSC, if they're at all smart, might've gone into some lengths to fix that flaw after the incident (eg making it so that the armor has some sort of alarm that goes off if there are foreign objects in the wrong places, or simply making the slots too small to fit anything in).

It's little moments like these that make Last Light so good.

| Isn't it though? We really need more work done with Veta and the Ferrets. Even more so when your "Senpai" notices your art of said scenes. I'm sure seeing Troy share/like you word was amazing. |
