Description One of many attempts to create a diesel locomotive, primarily for freight service. The over exposed fuel tanks would probably pose a danger if employed in say, a chemical processing plant.

This reminds me of

if this sort of decision had been adopted mane line railroads could have converted their bran new steam locomotive into diesel instead of scrapping them, and if done the right way they could have been converted back to steam in the 1970s oil crisis.

Yeah, it was one of the first to employ the shading. Looks like a Sentinal built mainline freight unit.
