Description
"And so the lads journeyed into the desolate land, only to find themselves stuck talking at a ruined structure."I got it done on schedule. That's a first. And exactly as I had predicted. I said it would take a week for me to complete, and that if I didn't get it done by the 31st I would post it the moment it was finished. So it's done, exactly on time.
And now, everybody that came forward and participated. Starting from left to right.
themightywolftiger , wearing what he described as a Spyro-Onesie
The-Combine-Engineer (Heh, me.) wearing a CEC Engineering RIG, from Dead Space
Atticus-W , as a generic Railroad Conductor
Kerbonaut (Above, right) wearing SpaceX's new spacesuit concept
BLITZandBLAZE 's character, Felix Koshka, as BBC's Sherlock Holmes
JoshStudios wearing what appeared to be a hoodie with a Salazzle pattern on it
A prime group of lads, eh?
Okay, let me explain a few things. To save myself some sanity, and deliver on time, I simplified the background and omitted shadows. And yet, my outfit is by far the most complicated in the picture... I originally did have a detail-heavy idea, but a lot of the things that I wanted to do probably couldn't be done without colours. And I only gave myself a week to finish the thing.
Now, I'll say, I think I did a pretty spiffy job on everybody's outfits. Again, colours would improve my work exponentially. Maybe next year.
Doing the outfits for both themightywolftiger and JoshStudios took a tiny bit of extra thinkerizing. I wasn't exactly sure how I would do their outfits. You see, neither was really... an extravagant outfit, rather conservative in fact. Of course, I actually used my head, and re-examined their reference pages. From what I deduced, JoshStudios' outfit looked more like a simple hoodie with the pattern of a Salazzle on it. (I'll admit, I was surprised. I'd never heard of that particular Pokemon before, but I like the design)
'Wolftiger was a similar story. Re-examining the ref-sheet. However, instead of directly copying, I elected to go an extra step. I considered the weather at this time of year, and thought about a heavy jacket over that onesie. So... that's how that is.
Imagine the adventures that would be had if this was a D&D party or something.
And I seem to suffer from a severe case of blog-writing syndrome. Even something so simple as a group image has a kilometer long description where I go on and on about the simplest things. Seriously, these kinds of descriptions belong on the practice sheets that I do.

Thanks man! I'd argue that this is one of the best character drawings I've done to date, dynamic poses and all.

A group of characters, usually of thr fantasy type, who wonder around a land, loosely following an adventure plot. Much akin to Monty Python and the search for the Holy Grail. (I say that because I have yet to read about a serious D&D session).

This looks awesome man! Also you'd be right about the jacket thing. It was pretty cool this Halloween, and although the onesie was warm I needed a
bit extra plus some pockets really helped me out. Though once again thank you for including me, and I love it.

Oh my goodness it's fantastic! Sorry I'm replying a bit late, I seem to have missed this in my inbox!
I love the costume you gave me, it's perfect-- especially considering I was rather vague on the details! But I think I like it even better knowing it's a custom job. The double-breasted jacket and boots rock.
Oh, and the picture setting is great-- as is the blog post description. I do that too-- but I like reading details about a picture. ^^
Thanks a ton for including me and for continuing the Halloween group pic tradition-- it means a lot! ^^
