Wow, I didn't realize how many images I haven't posted yet.This was from back in August.
You can't see it very well from this angle, but the wing & case cover on the far side is significantly shorter than the side facing the camera.

Yes, they are very colorful.
Draws the eye to a creature that by size one might not even notice.

G. coccinea have a range of colours (orange or red with greens, turquoise or bright blues) that often varies with location.

Yes, they are somewhat pretty.
As far as the surrounding trees are concerned, neither of them are actually a 'good' thing to find though.
Their larvae tunnel along inside the tree, eating one of the inner-most layers of bark which eventually kills the branch...
and the entire tree.
